Alright, so everyone started buzzing about these Fortnite Balenciaga skins, and naturally, my curiosity got the better of me. I had to see what this was all about, you know? It’s not every day you see high fashion popping up in a battle royale game. My first thought was, “Seriously? Balenciaga in Fortnite?” But hey, stranger things have happened in this game.

My First Look and the Decision
So, the next time I logged in, the first thing I did was head straight to the Item Shop. I scrolled through the usual offerings, the daily rotations, all that jazz. And there they were. A whole set of them. I spent a good few minutes just looking at the designs. They were… different. Definitely stood out from the usual tactical or goofy outfits. Bold, I guess you could say.
I wasn’t immediately sold, to be honest. I’ve got a decent collection of skins already, and you know how it is, V-Bucks don’t grow on trees. Well, unless you’re really grinding Save the World, but that’s another story. I thought about it for a day or two. I saw a few other players running around with them in matches, and I gotta admit, they caught my eye. They had a certain… presence.
Taking the Plunge
After mulling it over, I decided, “What the heck, let’s go for one.” I had some V-Bucks saved up from the last Battle Pass and a few challenges I’d completed. So, I wasn’t breaking the bank, which made the decision easier. I went back to the Item Shop, picked the one I liked the most – I think it was the Shady Doggo outfit, the one with the hoodie. It just seemed the most “me,” if that makes sense for a digital avatar.
The actual process of buying it was simple enough. Click, confirm, and boom, it was in my locker. No fuss, no complicated bundles I had to buy into, just a straightforward purchase. That was a relief. Sometimes these things are locked behind so many layers.
First Impressions In-Game
Naturally, the very next thing I did was equip it. Went straight to my locker, found the new skin, and slapped it on. Then, I jumped into a match. It’s always a bit different seeing a skin in the shop versus actually running around with it in the game environment.

- It definitely felt distinct. The textures seemed pretty detailed.
- My character looked kinda sleek, even while scrambling for loot.
- Other players noticed, I think. Got a few emote reactions.
I played a few matches with it. It didn’t make me play any better, obviously – it’s just a cosmetic. But it felt fresh. It was a nice change of pace from my usual rotation of skins. It’s funny how a new outfit can make the game feel a little new again, even for a short while.
So, Was It Worth It?
Yeah, I think so. For me, at least. It wasn’t a game-changer, but it was a fun little addition to my collection. I like having variety, and the Balenciaga skin definitely added a unique flavor. It’s one of those things where, if you like the look and you’ve got the V-Bucks to spare, why not? I’ve bought skins I’ve ended up using less. This one, I think I’ll keep in the rotation for a while. It’s a cool piece of Fortnite history too, in a weird way. Just another one of those wild crossovers they manage to pull off.
