Okay, guys, so today I wanna share my little project about making a “hover board flyer” thing. It’s not a real hoverboard, sadly, but it kinda looks like one, and it was super fun to build.

It all started when I saw this cool video online. I thought, “Hey, I can probably do something like that!” So I started gathering some stuff.
Gathering Stuff
First, I needed a base. I found this old, kinda beat-up piece of plywood in my garage. Perfect! It was already roughly the right shape, so I didn’t have to do much cutting.
- Plywood: Check.
- Some strong cardboard: Got it from some old boxes.
- Lots of duct tape: Because, you know, duct tape fixes everything.
- A couple of powerful fans: I found fans for a good price.
Building the Base
I started by reinforcing the plywood. It was a little flimsy, so I added some extra layers of cardboard and used a ton of duct tape to hold everything together. I mean, seriously, I used a lot of duct tape. It wasn’t pretty, but it was strong.
Adding the Fans
Next, I mounted the fans. I cut some holes in the plywood – not very neatly, I admit – and kinda jammed the fans in there. More duct tape! I made sure the fans were pointing downwards, obviously. That’s how it’s gonna “hover,” right?
Making it Look Kinda Cool
Okay, so at this point, it looked like a piece of wood with some fans stuck to it. Not very impressive. I wanted it to at least look like a hoverboard, so I grabbed some silver spray paint and went to town. I also added some extra bits of cardboard to make it look a bit more… futuristic? I guess?

The Big Test
This was the moment of truth. I plugged in the fans, stood back, and… it kinda worked! It didn’t exactly fly, but it definitely lifted off the ground a little bit. It was more like a really strong air cushion than a hoverboard, but hey, I was pretty happy with it!
It wobbled a lot, and I almost fell over a couple of times, but it was definitely hovering! I even managed to scoot around the garage a little bit. Success! I felt that it’s not easy.
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, that’s my hoverboard flyer story. It’s not perfect, it’s probably a little dangerous, but it was a fun project. And it almost hovers! I might try to improve it later, maybe add some better controls or something. But for now, I’m calling it a win.
