Alright, so I wanna share my recent little adventure messing around with the whole Chanel Ayan runway thing. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, lemme tell ya!

It all started when I saw some clips online. Ayan just has this incredible presence, and the outfits? Crazy good. I was like, “I gotta try and recreate something like that, even if it’s just a tiny piece of it.”
First thing’s first: research. I spent a solid afternoon just digging through runway videos and pictures. I wanted to understand the vibe, the shapes, the colours. Chanel is classic, of course, but Ayan brings this fierce, modern edge. So I was trying to figure out where those two things meet.
Then came the hard part: finding inspiration I could actually work with. I can’t sew a whole runway outfit, lol. So I started small. I focused on makeup looks. I saw one look with a super bold eyeliner that caught my eye. Okay, doable.
Next, I rummaged through my makeup bag. I needed a really, really black eyeliner. Found one that was almost dried out, but hey, we make do. I watched some tutorials on winged eyeliner – yeah, I still struggle with that. I practiced like, five times on my hand before even attempting my face. It was messy, smudged, and definitely not runway-ready at first.
After what felt like an eternity, I got the eyeliner looking somewhat decent. Then I tried to copy the dewy skin look. I used a light foundation, added some highlighter. I ended up looking more shiny than dewy, haha. I toned it down with some translucent powder. Still, not perfect, but better.

I didn’t stop there. I wanted to add a touch of the clothes to my looks, I went through my wardrobe and found a black blazer, oversized. You know, the typical fashionista type of blazer. I put it on, and that added some spice!
- Research: Spend hours looking at photos and videos.
- Simplify: Find one aspect you can realistically copy.
- Practice: Don’t expect perfection on the first try. Or the fifth.
- Adapt: Use what you have!
The final result? It wasn’t gonna land me on a Chanel runway, that’s for sure. But honestly, I learned a lot. It was fun to push myself and try something totally different. Plus, I now have a better handle on winged eyeliner! (Sort of.)
Lessons Learned
The biggest takeaway? Don’t be afraid to experiment. Even if you totally fail, you’ll still learn something. And who knows, you might even surprise yourself.
