Okay, so the other day I was working on a project, and I needed some images of Dua Lipa. You know, the usual stuff. I figured I’d just hit up Getty Images, because, let’s be honest, they have everything. But I wasn’t really sure about the best way to find what I needed so I just started to type in some keywords in their search bar.

So, I typed in “Dua Lipa” and, man, I was swimming in photos. We’re talking over 21,000 results! It’s pretty overwhelming when you see that big number. I needed to narrow it down, and quick, because I’ve got a deadline, you know?
I remembered reading somewhere that you can use special terms on Getty to get better results. Apparently, if you add “Bestpix” to your search, it shows you the images that the Getty editorial team likes the most. And if you’re looking for more creative type stuff, you use “Choicepix.” So I did that.
Figuring Out the “Bestpix” and “Choicepix”
- I typed “Dua Lipa Bestpix” into the search bar.
- Then I tried “Dua Lipa Choicepix” to see the difference.
Honestly, it did help to filter things out a bit. The photos that came up with “Bestpix” were definitely more of the standard, high-quality shots you’d expect. The “Choicepix” ones were a bit more artsy, which was cool but not exactly what I was going for at that moment.
Searching by Photographer
Then I thought, “What if I just look up the photographers who usually shoot her?” It makes sense, right? You’d get similar styles and probably photos from the same events. So I started typing in names of photographers I know who’ve worked with Dua Lipa.
- Looked up some photographers’ names that I could recall.
- Browsed through the results, which were much more manageable.
This was a game-changer. The number of photos was way down, and it was easier to find what I needed because they were all from the same sets or had the same kind of vibe. It is so much better to find the photos I want.

Paying for the Images
Of course, I knew I couldn’t just download these images and use them. You have to license them from Getty for commercial use or even editorial projects. So I had to go through the whole process of picking the right license and paying for it.
- Selected the photos I wanted.
- Chose the appropriate license.
- Paid for the images through their system.
It’s not super cheap, but hey, it’s worth it for the quality and to make sure you’re using images legally. You gotta respect the photographers and the models, right?
All in all, it was a bit of a learning curve, but I figured out a pretty good system for finding Dua Lipa’s photos on Getty Images. It’s all about using those special keywords, searching by photographer, and then, of course, making sure you license the images properly. Hope this helps someone out there who’s drowning in a sea of search results like I was!
