Okay, so summer 2014… a blast from the past, right? I remember trying to figure out what to wear that year, and it was a whole thing. I wanted to look cute, but also, you know, survive the heat. Here’s how I went about it:

Getting Inspired
First, I scrolled through tons of pictures.I just looked at what everyone else was wearing. I paid attention to the colors, the patterns, and the overall vibes.
My Closet Dive
Then, I dove into my own closet. I pulled out everything that even remotely looked summery – all my shorts, skirts, tank tops, and dresses. I even found some old stuff I’d totally forgotten about!
The Try-On Session
- I started trying things on, mixing and matching like crazy. Some combinations were… well, let’s just say they weren’t winners.
- I remeber, I had this one floral skirt that I loved, I paired it with some plain colored T-shirts.
- But I kept experimenting. I paired a striped top with denim shorts, and it actually looked pretty good!
- I also discovered that my plain white tank top went with everything. Seriously, a lifesaver.
Accessorizing!
I have a box full of accessories and used them all! I added a bright scarf to a simple outfit, and it instantly made it more interesting. And sunglasses? Absolutely essential. Not just for looking cool, but also, you know, for protecting my eyes. I also am a big fan of hats, I remember I got a wide-brimmed straw hat, which became my best friend that summer.
The Final Looks
After all that, I ended up with a bunch of outfits I was really happy with. I had:
- Denim shorts with different colored tank tops and cute sandals.
- Flowy skirts with fitted tops and my trusty straw hat.
- A couple of easy breezy dresses that I could just throw on and go.
It was a lot of trial and error, but I eventually figured out a summer wardrobe that was both stylish and practical. And honestly, that’s the best feeling.
