Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea for a while, and today I finally sat down and did it – creating my own version of a Vogue cover for 2024. It’s something I’ve seen floating around the internet, and I thought, why not give it a shot?

I started by browsing through some of the latest Vogue covers. There are some famous models, like Kate Moss, who has been on a ton of them. I also noticed they recently did a digital cover called “Fashion Gets Real: Creativity for Everyone,” which sounded pretty cool. It had seven models on it, and I found it pretty inspiring. I also noticed that models are smiling and happy on some covers.
So, I decided my cover would feature a model who isn’t super well-known, just to mix things up a bit. I wanted to capture a natural, candid moment, nothing too posed or serious. I remembered seeing some covers where the models are just laughing and having a good time, like one with a model at Isabel Marant.
I spent a good few hours looking for the right photo. I wanted someone who looked like they were genuinely enjoying themselves. Once I found the perfect shot, I started playing around with the layout. I used a simple, clean font for the “Vogue” logo, keeping it classic.
Then came the text. I added a few headlines, trying to mimic the style of the real magazine. I threw in a mention of “Fashion Gets Real,” just as a nod to that digital cover I liked. I also added the date, “2024,” to make it feel current. I played around with the placement, making sure everything was balanced and not too cluttered.
- Choosing the photo: This took the longest. I wanted something that felt authentic and fresh.
- Designing the layout: I kept it simple and clean, focusing on the photo and the iconic Vogue logo.
- Adding text: This was fun, trying to come up with catchy headlines.
After a few more tweaks, I finally had something I was happy with. It’s not perfect, but I think it captures the vibe I was going for. It’s amazing how much work goes into creating these covers. I have a newfound respect for the editors and designers who do this for a living! You know, like Corey Seymour, who is apparently a Senior Editor at Vogue.

I showed my finished cover to a few friends, and they seemed to like it. One of them even suggested I try different versions, maybe with different models or themes. I might just do that. It’s a fun little project, and it’s a great way to get those creative juices flowing.
It’s wild to think that Vogue started way back in 1892. Back then, it was this weekly journal for the high-society crowd in New York City. Arthur Baldwin Turnure was the guy who started it all, apparently. They’d write about the local social scene, the traditions of high society, that kind of stuff. Also, they had reviews of books, plays, and music. It’s come a long way since then, hasn’t it?
Creating this fake Vogue cover was a blast. It was way more work than I expected, but totally worth it. Maybe I’ll make it a regular thing and see how my “covers” evolve over time. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually see my work on a real magazine stand! A guy can dream, right?
