Okay, so I’ve been hearing about Amass in Copenhagen forever. Everyone raves about it, and it’s got that whole sustainable, farm-to-table thing going on, which I’m totally into. So, I finally decided to check it out.

Getting There

First off, finding the place. It’s a little out there, in Refshaleøen. I took the bus, which, honestly, was super easy. It dropped me off pretty much right outside. You could bike too, I saw a bunch of people doing that. The area itself is kind of industrial, but in a cool, artsy way.

First Impressions

Walking up to Amass, the first thing I noticed was the garden. They grow a bunch of their own produce right there, which is awesome. It’s this big, open space, kind of wild and beautiful. Then you see the restaurant, it’s this huge, former warehouse-looking building.

Inside Amass

Stepping inside, it’s all very… minimalist. High ceilings, concrete floors, big windows. But it’s not cold or sterile feeling, It’s actually warm. The tables are spaced out, so you don’t feel cramped, and there’s this open kitchen where you can see the chefs working. Super cool vibe.

The Food, Finally!

I went for the set menu.I don’t even remember everything I ate, to be honest. Each dish was small, but there were so many of them! And each one was like a little work of art. Seriously, they use tweezers to place stuff on the plate.

One thing I do remember was some kind of amazing bread with this crazy delicious butter. They told me they even make their own butter! And there was this one dish with, like, fermented vegetables and some kind of crispy… something. I have no idea what it was, but it was incredible.

The waiters (servers? I never know what to call them) were super knowledgeable. They explained every single dish, where the ingredients came from, how it was prepared. It felt like I learned something new with every course.

Drinks

I went all in and got the wine pairing. The sommelier was so passionate and informative. He was suggesting wines that were totally unique and complemented the food perfectly.

Wrapping Up

So, yeah, Amass. It’s not a cheap meal, not by a long shot. But for a special occasion, or if you’re a real foodie, it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s not just dinner, it’s like, a whole experience. I left feeling full, but also kind of… inspired, I guess? It’s hard to explain. You really have to experience it yourself.
