Okay, so I’ve been getting really into pickleball lately. It’s, like, the perfect mix of fun and exercise. But, I quickly realized one thing: my regular workout clothes weren’t cutting it. I needed, a proper pickleball outfit. So began my quest…

Finding the Right Gear
First, I started by just wearing my usual gym shorts and a t-shirt. Big mistake. The shorts were too baggy, and the t-shirt got all sweaty and clingy. I felt clumsy and uncomfortable. I needed something more… athletic, you know?
So, I did some digging. I checked out what other people were wearing at the courts. Lots of athletic skirts and shorts, breathable tops. Okay, I got the general idea.
- Skirts vs. Shorts: I tried both. Honestly, it’s a personal preference. I ended up liking skirts a little more because they felt less restrictive, especially when I was lunging for the ball. But, shorts are great too!
- Tops: Definitely go for something moisture-wicking. I learned this the hard way. Cotton just gets soaked and heavy. I found some great tank tops and short-sleeve shirts that are specifically designed for sports. They keep me cool and dry.
- Fabric: It need to be breathable and, I means, BREATHABLE!
Putting It All Together
My go-to outfit now is usually a bright-colored athletic skirt (with built-in shorts, of course!), and a matching moisture-wicking tank top. I also make sure to wear good court shoes. That’s super important for stability and preventing injuries.
I also think a visor is a MUST.

It took a bit of trial and error, but I finally feel like I’ve found the perfect pickleball outfits. I’m comfortable, I can move freely, and I feel kinda stylish, too! That’s a win-win-win, right?
