Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Patrick Slim Domit fella. I heard he’s a big shot, you know, one of them rich fellers. Patrick Slim Domit, they say. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But who is he really? Well, from what I gather, he’s one of old man Slim’s boys.
Now, this old man Slim, Carlos Slim Helu they call him, he’s got more money than you can shake a stick at. Heard he’s the richest fella in Mexico. Can you imagine? More money than Mable down the road has chickens, and that’s saying something!
- So, this Patrick, he’s one of the six kids. Six! Lord have mercy, that’s a lot of mouths to feed, even if you got all that money.
- They got Carlos, Marco Antonio, Patrick, Soumaya, Vanessa, and Johanna. A whole bunch of ’em.
Patrick, he’s right there in the middle. Born in 1970, they say. Makes him…what…53 years old now? Still a young whippersnapper in my book, but I guess he’s done alright for himself.
They say he’s the big boss man, the Chief Executive Officer, of somethin’ called Grupo Sanborns. Sounds important, right? Probably sells all sorts of fancy things city folks like. Me, I’m happy with my Sears catalog and a good cup of coffee.
His mama, Soumaya Domit Gemayel, she was married to old man Slim for a long time, from 1967 they say. But she ain’t around no more, sadly. Don’t know the details, and it ain’t none of my business anyhow. But it’s a shame, family’s important, you know?
Anyways, back to Patrick. He and his brothers, they run a lot of their daddy’s businesses. Keeps it all in the family, I guess. Smart, I reckon. Who else you gonna trust with all that money? Can’t be givin’ it away to strangers, that’s for sure.
Now, I ain’t never met these folks, mind you. Just hearin’ things from the telly and the newspaper. But it seems like this Patrick fella, he’s got it all figured out. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, some might say. But you still gotta work hard, even if you got money. At least, that’s what my pappy always told me.

So, that’s the lowdown on Patrick Slim Domit, as far as I can tell. Rich fella, runs a big company, son of the richest man in Mexico. Good for him, I say. As long as he ain’t causin’ no trouble, he can do what he wants with his money. Me, I’ll just stick to my garden and my chickens. That’s enough excitement for this old gal.
