I remember I was deep into trying to figure out this coding problem I had. Been banging my head against the wall for hours. Needed a quick break, maybe find some inspiration or just clear my head for five minutes. So, I opened up one of those news aggregator things.
What a Mistake That Was
First thing I see? Bam. Sensational headlines. Not just that one, but a whole load of similar stuff. Stuff completely unrelated to what I was looking for, which was maybe some tech news or something interesting about, I don’t know, woodworking? My algorithm’s usually better than this.
So, I started trying to clean it up. You know the drill:
- Hit the “show less like this” button. Felt like I clicked it a hundred times.
- Went into the settings, tried blocking keywords. Good luck with that, they always find a way around it.
- Thought about just ditching the platform altogether, but where else do you get that quick overview, you know?
It got me thinking, though. It reminded me of this old project I worked on, years back. We were trying to build this content filter for a small community site. The idea was simple: keep the junk out, let the good stuff through. Easier said than done.
