Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with figuring out what’s going to be hot on the streets of New York in 2024. I mean, NYC is the place for fashion, right? So, I started this whole project to really dig in and see what I could find.
My Deep Dive into NYC Street Style
First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I went deep. I looked at tons of runway shows from New York Fashion Week. I figured, what better way to predict the future than to see what the designers are showing now?
Then, I spent hours scrolling through Instagram. You know, checking out all the big fashion influencers, especially the ones based in New York. I wanted to see what they were wearing, what they were tagging, and what kinds of styles were getting the most love.
- I made a list of popular hastags.
- I saved any pictures I found.
After the online stuff, I hit the streets! I actually went to different neighborhoods in New York – SoHo, the Lower East Side, even up to Harlem – just to observe what people were actually wearing. I took notes on everything: colors, fabrics, silhouettes, accessories, the whole nine yards.
I tried to blend with environment, and found the real popular things.
It was a lot of work, but so much fun. And I feel like I really got a good sense of what’s coming up in NYC street fashion. I combined everything I learned – the runway stuff, the influencer trends, and my own observations – and I made some pictures.
