Okay, so I saw this thing online about throwing a “Billionaire Movie Birthday Party” and I thought, “Why not?” I mean, who doesn’t want to feel like a billionaire for a day, even if it’s just pretend? So, I decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it went down:
The Prep Work
First, I brainstormed some “billionaire” movies. You know, the ones with fancy parties, crazy rich people, and over-the-top everything. Think The Great Gatsby, Crazy Rich Asians, maybe even a little Wolf of Wall Street (minus the, uh, illegal stuff). I wanted a mix of classy and outrageous.
I made a list of possible decorations. I’m talking fake diamonds, gold streamers, maybe even a red carpet (which turned out to be a red tablecloth, but hey, it worked!). I also planned the menu. No hot dogs and chips here! I went for mini quiches, fancy cheese and crackers, and those little sandwiches with the crusts cut off. I even got some sparkling cider so we can all pretend to be super rich people.
Setting the Scene
Next up: transforming my apartment. I moved some furniture around to make more space, draped the red tablecloth… I mean, red carpet… across the floor leading to the living room. I scattered the fake diamonds (mostly plastic beads, don’t tell anyone) on the tables, and I hung up the gold streamers. It actually started to look pretty…blingy!
The Party!
When my friends arrived, I greeted them at the door with a ridiculously oversized (fake) diamond ring. I put my acting skill on and said “Welcome, darlings!” with my best posh accent. We put on some fancy background music, mostly jazz to play that scene, and everyone started to mingle.
I had a few movie clips playing on a loop on my TV, without the sound, just to give it that “fancy gala” vibe. We all toasted with our sparkling cider, pretending we were at some exclusive premiere.

The Aftermath
Honestly, it was hilarious. We spent the evening quoting lines from the movies, pretending to be ridiculously wealthy, and just generally being silly.
By the end of the night, my apartment looked like a glitter bomb had exploded, but it was totally worth it. It was a fun, cheap(at least I think), and memorable way to spend a Saturday night. Would I do it again? Absolutely! Maybe next time I’ll add a fake paparazzi (aka my friends with their phone cameras) for extra effect.
