Alright, let’s talk about the Yeezy 2016 drop. Man, that was a crazy time.

So, it all started with me seeing some hype online. I was like, “Okay, these Yeezys look kinda cool.” I’d never really been into sneakers like that, but the buzz was undeniable. I remember thinking, “I gotta try and snag a pair.”

First thing I did was research. I mean, you couldn’t just walk into a store and grab these things, right? Learned all about the Adidas Confirmed app. Downloaded that sucker and set up my account. I made sure to link my credit card and everything, ready to go.

Then came the waiting game. The release date was looming, and I was checking the app like every hour. Getting real anxious, you know? On the day of the drop, I set like five alarms. Woke up way before the actual release time just to make sure I was prepped. Had the app open, phone charged, Wi-Fi strong.

When the clock hit release time, it was chaos. The app started glitching, crashing, all that stuff. I was hammering that button, trying to get in line. Felt like forever, but finally, I got through. Selected my size (Size 11, baby!), and then… “SOLD OUT.”

I was crushed. Seriously bummed. Thought that was the end of it. But then, I remembered something about raffles. Started hunting around online for any local raffles happening. Hit up all the sneaker stores in the area, signed up for every single one I could find.

Weeks went by, and I’d almost given up hope. Then, outta nowhere, I get a call. A small boutique store saying I’d won a raffle! I couldn’t believe it! Drove down there so fast, practically broke the speed limit.

Finally, there they were. The Yeezy 350 Boost V2 in the “Beluga” colorway. Paid the retail price (which, even then, felt like a lot), walked out of the store feeling like I’d won the lottery.

Wore those things everywhere. Got tons of compliments. Eventually, I sold them a couple years later for a decent profit. It was a wild ride, man. Really got me into the whole sneaker culture thing for a while. Good times.
