So yeah, another dude online swore Wona was the fix for my slowdown mess. Brain screamed “download now!” Didn’t listen to the little voice whispering ‘maybe check first’. Big mistake. Big.
Getting my hands dirty

Lessons carved in stone (the hard way)
Next day, smartened up. Actually went to Wona’s real site. Not via some shady portal. Huge difference.
Looked closely. Official logo. Normal, non-shouty download button labeled ‘Windows version’. Downloaded it slowly.
Setup file was clean: ‘Wona_Setup_*’. Verified the publisher name matched the company. Took a breath.
Ran installer. Clicked ‘Custom Setup’. This time? Unchecked every single optional garbage box:
- Toolbar? NO.
- Set as homepage? NO.
- Install partner software? NOOOOO.
Uninstalled like a champ next day to test it. Just the single ‘Wona’ entry. Beautiful.
Gotcha Tips burned into my brain
Don’t be a clueless downloader like I was. Pay attention:
- Always hit the vendor’s actual website. Don’t grab from weird ‘download portals’.
- Trust your gut if the download button seems too loud or too green. Run.
- Check the installer file name. Fake ones usually look strange or suspiciously vague.
- Never ever click ‘Run Anyway’ when your system screams warnings at you. Listen.
- Custom Install = Your Friend. Uncheck every box that isn’t the main program.
- Hunt in the Control Panel afterwards. Sort by date installed and murder any new junk.
