Okay, so I got this idea to make a list of the top models from the 80s. I thought it would be cool to look back at that era’s iconic faces. So, I started by, well, just thinking about who I remembered from back then.
First, I brainstormed a bit, jotting down names that popped into my head. You know, the really big ones like Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. Those were easy.
Getting Down to Business
Then, I figured I needed to be a bit more, uh, systematic. So I hit the internet. I just started searching for “top 80s models” and seeing what came up.
- I opened a bunch of different websites. Some were just lists, others were like, actual articles about the models.
- I started copying names, and realized this was getting massive, so I start to use tools to do it.
- I scrolled through tons of pictures, trying to see if the names were showing up again and again on different sites. That seemed like a good way to figure out who was truly “top.”
Honestly, there were a lot of names. It was kind of overwhelming! I started making a simple list in a text file, just to keep track. I’d add a name if it seemed to be popping up on multiple “top” lists.
Narrowing It Down
After a while, I had this HUGE list. I needed to, like, cut it down. So, I started looking at each model’s, well, I guess you’d call it their “impact.” Like, were they on magazine covers all the time? Were they in big ad campaigns? Things like that.
I also tried to get a mix of different “looks,” you know? Not just all, like, one type of model. The 80s had a lot of diversity, so I wanted my list to show that.
It took a while, and a lot of back-and-forth, but eventually, I whittled it down to a list I was pretty happy with. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure some people will disagree, but it feels like a good representation of the biggest names from that time.
