So, I got this wild idea a while back, something I started calling my ‘saint vogue’ project. Sounds a bit much, maybe, but the thought was simple: try to live a bit more minimally, you know, like a ‘saint’, but keep things stylish, ‘vogue’. Seemed like a decent goal.
First step, I decided to tackle the wardrobe. It was chaos in there. Seriously. I just yanked everything out. Piles of clothes on the bed, on the floor. Stuff I hadn’t worn since who knows when. The idea was to only keep the essentials, things that felt both simple and looked good.
Sorting through it all was the hard part. Way harder than I thought. You pick up a shirt, and suddenly it’s got memories attached. Or those jeans you swear you’ll fit into again one day. The ‘saint’ part of me wanted to let it all go, be disciplined. The regular me just kept making excuses. It took ages.
Trying to Make it Work
I spent a weekend just making piles. Keep, donate, trash. But then a fourth pile appeared: the ‘maybe’ pile. And man, that maybe pile got pretty big, pretty fast. Kind of defeated the whole ‘minimal’ idea right there.
Then came the ‘vogue’ part. I’m no fashion expert. I looked online for inspiration, trying to figure out how to make simple look stylish. It just made my head spin. Too many trends, too many rules that change every five minutes. What looked ‘vogue’ one day seemed ridiculous the next.

It’s still just my regular wardrobe, maybe slightly smaller. That ‘maybe’ pile? Still exists, shoved in a box. Maybe I’ll look at it again next year. Or maybe not. It was an experiment, I guess. Learned that those cool-sounding concepts are usually a lot more work, and a lot less glamorous, than they sound.
