Well, let me tell you, these days all the young folks are carrying these metallic bags. Shiny things, they are. Back in my day, we just had plain old cloth sacks. But these new bags, they shimmer and shine like a tin roof on a sunny day.
Shiny Bags Everywhere
You see them everywhere now, these metallic bags. Big ones, small ones, all different shapes. Some are silver, like a new dime. Some are gold, like, well, like gold! They got these metallic bags that are kinda pink, kinda purple, all sorts of colors. Never seen nothing like it. Makes my old eyes pop out just looking at ’em.

They say it’s a trend, this metallic bag thing. Like them hula hoops a few years back. Everybody’s gotta have one, I guess. The young girls, they carry ’em to the store, to school, even to church! I reckon it makes ’em feel fancy.
I saw one the other day, it was a little metallic silver tote bag. Looked like it could hold a few groceries. Not too big, not too small. The girl carrying it, she had on them ripped-up jeans and a t-shirt. But that shiny bag, it kinda dressed her up a bit, I suppose.
Different Kinds of Metallic Bags
And they got all kinds of these metallic bags. Not just the tote kind. I seen one, it was a metallic crossbody bag. You wear it across your chest, like so. Keeps your hands free, I reckon. Good for when you’re wrangling chickens or carrying a heavy load. That’s what we used to do.
Some of these metallic bags, they got fancy names. Coach, Gucci, something called Rebecca Minkoff. I don’t know nothin’ about those names. Probably cost a pretty penny, though. More than I’d spend on a bag, that’s for sure. But the young folks, they like those fancy names.
They even got metallic shoulder bags. You just sling ’em over your shoulder. Those are kinda nice, I guess. If you ain’t got too much to carry. I saw a lady at the market with one. It was a gold metallic bag, it was. Matched her shoes, I think.
They got these metallic bags in all kinds of materials, too. Some are kinda like leather. Some are shiny and smooth, kinda like plastic or foil. Some look like quilted, they call it. Fancy word for something looks like my old patchwork blanket.
Where to Find These Shiny Things
You can find these metallic bags at all the stores, I reckon. I seen ’em at that big department store, Dillard’s, they call it. And Bloomingdale’s, too. Fancy places. Probably cost a lot there. But you can find ’em other places, too. Online, they say. I don’t know much about that internet thing. But the young folks, they buy everything online these days.
They even got these metallic bags at them special stores. The ones that just sell bags. Never seen so many bags in one place. All different colors, all different shapes. And a whole bunch of them are these shiny metallic ones. It’s a sight to behold, I tell ya.
I guess if you want one of these metallic bags, you can find one just about anywhere. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled. They’re everywhere these days. Like them dandelions in the spring. Can’t hardly get rid of ’em.
Are Metallic Bags Here to Stay?
Now, I don’t know if this metallic bag trend is gonna last. Trends come and go, like the seasons. One day it’s hula hoops, the next day it’s these shiny bags. Who knows what it’ll be next year. Maybe we’ll all be carrying around bags made of cornhusks. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
But for now, these metallic bags are all the rage. And I gotta admit, they are kinda pretty. They catch the light, you know. Make things a little brighter. Maybe I’ll get me one. A small one. Just to carry my knitting needles. A silver metallic bag, maybe. Or maybe gold. What do you think?
I heard someone say that Beyonce, you know that singer lady, is the reason why these metallic bags are so popular. Could be. She’s a big star. People copy what she does. I don’t listen to her music much. But she’s got good taste in bags, I guess.
Well, that’s all I know about these metallic bags. Just a lot of shiny stuff, everywhere you look. Kinda like a magpie’s nest. Full of shiny bits and bobs. The world sure is changing. But some things stay the same. Like my need for a good, strong bag. Even if it is covered in shiny stuff.
