What to wear to a summer wedding? Summer wedding attire for men guide!

Okay, so I recently had to figure out what to wear to a summer wedding. It’s not as simple as it sounds, you know? You want to look good but not melt under the sun. So, I started by thinking about the basics.

First, I considered the location. It was an outdoor wedding, which meant I could ditch the heavy wool suits. Phew! I went straight for the lighter fabrics. I mean, who wants to be sweating buckets in a formal setting? Not me! So, I picked out a couple of cotton suits I had. They are super breathable, which is exactly what you need in the summer heat.

Next up, the style. Since it was a summer wedding, I figured I could be a bit more relaxed. I decided to try on a few different combinations. For one look, I put on a light blue cotton suit with a crisp white shirt. I felt like a million bucks! And for another, I went with a beige suit and a light pink shirt. It looked sharp, and my wife loved it, so that was a plus!

Accessories were the next hurdle. I’m not really a tie guy, especially not in the summer. So, I messed around with some pocket squares. They added a nice touch of color without making me feel like I was being strangled. I even tried on a few pairs of sunglasses to see if they would work. I ended up grabbing a classic pair that made me look cool and kept the sun out of my eyes.

Now, for a beach wedding, I would have gone even more casual. I have this great summer blazer and some linen pants that I love. It’s a killer combo for a more laid-back vibe. I’d probably skip the tie and just wear a nice shirt. That way, I’d still look put-together but also relaxed and ready to enjoy the beach setting.

I also had to think about the groom and the best man. You don’t want to upstage them, right? So, I made sure my outfit was a step down from what they might wear. If the groom is in a white dinner jacket, you definitely don’t want to be in one too. I kept it simple and made sure I wouldn’t stand out too much.

In the end, I felt pretty good about my choices. I went with the light blue suit and white shirt, added a fun pocket square, and wore my cool sunglasses. I was comfortable, I looked good, and I didn’t steal the show. Mission accomplished!

It was a bit of a process, but hey, that’s what happens when you want to look good without sacrificing comfort. I think I nailed it, and I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out. Plus, I got a few compliments, so that’s always a nice bonus!

So yeah, that’s my little adventure in figuring out summer wedding attire. Hope this helps someone out there who’s in the same boat!
