Okay, so I was rummaging through some old inspiration folders on my computer the other day. Just trying to clear things out, you know? And I stumbled across some images I’d saved ages ago. They looked familiar, kinda bold prints, easy shapes. Took me a minute, but then it clicked – it reminded me of a Diane von Furstenberg show.
I couldn’t quite place the year, maybe early 2010s? So, I just started searching online. Typed in things like “DVF print runway” and scrolled a bit. Then I refined it, trying “Diane von Furstenberg spring” and looking at the years. Eventually landed on Spring 2013. Yeah, that looked right. The images matched what I vaguely remembered.
Digging into the Looks
So I spent a bit of time just looking through the photos and some video clips that popped up. It wasn’t really about deep fashion analysis or anything. More just refreshing my memory, seeing what caught my eye now compared to back then.
Here’s what I kinda focused on:
- The Prints: Obvious one for DVF, right? But I was looking at how they were used. Some head-to-toe looks, some mixed prints which always feels a bit daring. I took a few mental notes, maybe screen-grabbed one or two looks just to remember the combinations.
- The Silhouettes: Yeah, the wrap dress was there, classic. But there were other shapes too. Some flowy pants, tunic tops, things that looked really comfortable but still put-together. I tried to imagine actually moving in those clothes.
- The Vibe: It felt pretty optimistic and bright. Lots of color. Made me think about how clothes can kinda shift your mood.
It wasn’t like I was trying to recreate anything exactly. More like absorbing the feeling of it. I spent maybe half an hour just clicking around, zooming in on details, thinking about how those ideas could translate into just, like, everyday dressing. Could I mix patterns I already own? Could I try a brighter color than usual?
It’s funny how revisiting something like an old runway show can spark little ideas. Didn’t lead to any major wardrobe overhaul or anything, just a nice little trip down memory lane and a reminder to maybe be a bit more playful with prints sometimes. That was basically my practice for the day – just looking, thinking, and remembering.
