Alright, so today’s little project, or rather, what I ended up fiddling with, was this whole ‘Cardi B in a bikini’ thing. Sounds a bit out there, I know, but stick with me, ’cause it ain’t really about that, not directly anyway.
So, I thought, okay, let’s see what the fuss is, or if there’s even a fuss. Maybe I was thinking about some pop culture thing, or just, you know, curiosity. The internet does that to you. You hear a phrase, and your fingers just start typing before your brain catches up. That’s what happened here. I punched it into the search bar.
The Great Distraction Begins
And bam! Down the rabbit hole I went. You know how it is. You click one thing, then another, then an ad catches your eye for something completely different. Before I knew it, I wasn’t even on the Cardi B trail anymore. It’s like those choose-your-own-adventure books, but with way more cat videos and ads for stuff you don’t need.
I found myself looking at reviews for a new kind of ergonomic chair. Don’t ask me how I got there. I think there was an article about celebrity home offices, then a link to designer furniture, then to office chairs, and suddenly I’m comparing lumbar support features. My back has been a bit iffy lately, so I guess my subconscious took over.
I spent, and I’m not proud of this, a good forty-five minutes on chairs. I even started a mental list:
- Mesh back or padded?
- Headrest: gimmick or godsend?
- How many wheels are too many wheels? (It’s always five, isn’t it?)
What I Was Actually Supposed To Be Doing
The kicker? I was meant to be figuring out why my car was making that weird clunking noise. I had the whole morning set aside. Tools were laid out, sort of. I had a YouTube tutorial cued up – a different YouTube tutorial, about CV joints, not celebrity bikinis or office furniture.
So, there I was, deep in chair research, phone in hand, while my car sat in the driveway, probably judging me with its clunky silence. My original plan? Totally derailed. And all because of a random thought about ‘Cardi B in a bikini’ that led me on a wild goose chase through the internet’s back alleys.
Eventually, I snapped out of it. Realized hours had gone by. The sun had moved. My coffee was cold. The car? Still clunking, I presume. I hadn’t even opened the hood. I did learn a lot about chairs, though. So, silver linings, maybe? Probably not when your car needs fixing.
It just goes to show, these search terms, these little curiosities, they can really sidetrack you. You start off with one thing, and you end up somewhere completely unexpected, usually learning something you didn’t need to know and forgetting what you were actually trying to do. That’s my practical experience for the day, folks. A whole lot of clicking, not much fixing. Back to that car, I guess. After one more look at those chair reviews, maybe.
