My Go With Covergirl So Lashy!
Alright, so I decided to give this Covergirl So Lashy! mascara a try. Heard some things, saw it in the store, you know how it goes. Just grabbed it one day while picking up other stuff. Didn’t expect miracles, just wanted to see what it was all about.
Pulled it out of the package. The tube is pretty standard Covergirl, kinda chunky. But the wand, okay, that thing looked wild. It’s got this spiky ball thing on the very tip, and then regular-ish plastic bristles down the rest. My first thought was, “How am I supposed to use that ball part without poking my eye out?” Looked a bit intimidating, honestly.
So, time to actually put it on. I did my usual routine, curled my lashes first. Then I went in with the wand. Getting the main part of the lashes coated with the longer bristles was fine, pretty standard stuff. The formula felt… a little thick? Not super wet, but definitely substantial.
Then came the tricky part – that spiky ball tip. I tried using it like they probably intend, to get the inner corners and maybe the lower lashes. It took some careful maneuvering. I definitely tapped my eyelid a couple of times. Whoops. It did help grab those tiny corner lashes, I’ll give it that. But it wasn’t the easiest thing to handle right off the bat. Needed a bit of practice to get the hang of angling it right.

Length was pretty good too, noticeable difference there. Separation wasn’t perfect straight away; because the formula was a bit thick, I had a couple of lashes wanting to stick together. I used the wand tip very carefully to try and separate them a bit more, which kinda worked.
Wore it for the rest of the day. Did my usual running around, met a friend for coffee, came home. I checked in the mirror a few times. I did notice a tiny black speck under one eye by the late afternoon, so maybe a tiny bit of flaking, but nothing major. No smudging, no raccoon eyes, even after a pretty long day. So, the staying power was actually quite decent.
End of the day, time for removal. I used my go-to oil-based makeup remover on a cotton pad. Held it on my eye for a few seconds. It came off okay. Maybe needed one extra swipe compared to some other mascaras I use, probably because the formula is thicker and really coats the lashes, but it wasn’t a struggle. No harsh rubbing needed, which is always good.
So, the final verdict after trying it out? It delivers on the volume, big time. If you want dramatic, thick lashes, this definitely does that. The wand is weird and takes getting used to, especially that ball tip. It wears pretty well, minimal flaking for me. Removal is manageable. It’s not my absolute favorite ever, mostly because the application felt a bit clumsy with that wand, but the end result was impactful. I’d probably pull it out again when I want that really bold lash look.
