Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with Taylor Swift’s style lately, especially her iconic black dresses. I decided I had to try and recreate one of her looks, you know, for fun, and maybe to wear out sometime. It was a whole process, let me tell you!
The Hunt Begins
First, I scrolled through tons of pictures online. I mean, there are so many black dresses Taylor has worn. I wanted something classic, but also something I could realistically pull off. I finally settled on a simple, fitted black dress she wore to an event, I think I saved a lot of pictures of her in similar black dresses!
Finding the Perfect Dress(or not)
Next up was finding a similar dress. This was harder than I thought! I went to a few different stores, trying on a bunch of dresses. Some were too fancy, some were too casual, some were just…not right. I almost gave up,Honestly.
- Too short.
- Too long.
- Weird material.
Finally,I found one Dress! It wasn’t exactly the same, but it had the same vibe – a simple, flattering black dress that I could dress up or down. Score!
Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!
Of course, the dress is only part of the look. Taylor always has amazing accessories. I dug through my jewelry box and found a delicate necklace and some simple earrings. I also decided to copy Taylor’s signature red lip.I think that is perfect.
The Final Look
I put it all together – the dress, the jewelry, the red lipstick, even tried to style my hair similarly (which was a bit of a fail, to be honest,my hair has a mind of its own!). But overall, I was pretty happy with how it turned out!It wasn’t a perfect replica, of course, but I felt like I captured a little bit of that Taylor Swift magic.
It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me appreciate how much thought goes into creating a signature look. Maybe I’ll try another one of her outfits sometime! It’s a super intersting thing to do!
