Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to try out that silver hair look for a while now. I mean, it just looks so cool, right? But, I was kinda scared, not gonna lie. I wasn’t sure how to do it or if it would even look good on me. But, I finally decided to just go for it.
First, I spent hours, and I mean HOURS, looking online for tips and stuff. It was pretty overwhelming, to be honest. There’s so much info out there, and not all of it is good. I did find some helpful stuff, though. I learned that keeping silver hair looking good is a bit of a commitment, you know?
So, step one, I went out and bought a ton of hair products. Shampoos, conditioners, everything that said “silver” or “violet tones” on it, I grabbed it. I ended up getting this Davines Alchemic Shampoo. It’s supposed to be good, or something. Hopefully, it’s not just hype.
- Shopping Spree: I hit up a bunch of stores, even that fancy one, Sephora. I felt kinda out of place, but whatever. I got what I needed.
- Reading Reviews: I was glued to my phone, reading every review I could find. It was exhausting, but I wanted to make sure I was getting good stuff.
Then came the actual dyeing process. I decided to go to a professional because, well, I didn’t want to mess it up. It took a while, sitting there with all those foils in my hair, but it was worth it. The stylist, she was great. She gave me a bunch of tips on how to take care of my new silver hair, so it didn’t turn brassy or anything.
Now that I’ve got the silver hair, I’m trying to follow all the advice I found. I’m only washing my hair like once or twice a week. I don’t want the color to fade too fast, you know? And when I do wash it, I use cool water, not hot. I learned that hot water is bad for colored hair, especially for gray tones. Also, I’m trying to avoid using my straightener too much. Heat styling is not my friend right now.
It’s been a few weeks, and so far, so good. My hair still looks pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. It’s definitely more work than I’m used to, but I think it’s worth it.
The Result
I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s a big change, but I love it. It makes me feel kinda edgy and cool. Plus, I’ve gotten a bunch of compliments, which is always nice. I’d say, if you’re thinking about going silver, just do it. It’s a fun change, and as long as you’re willing to put in the work to take care of it, you’ll be happy with it.
All in all, the whole thing was a bit of an adventure, but I’m glad I did it. Silver hair, don’t care! (Well, I do care a little, but you know what I mean.)
