Okay, so I’ve been wanting a blue designer bag for, like, forever. I finally decided to take the plunge and get one, and let me tell you, the whole process was a bit of a journey!
First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I spent hours looking at different websites, department stores, and even some of those resale sites. It was overwhelming! There are so many shades of blue, so many different styles, and, of course, so many different price points.
I initially thought I wanted a really bright, almost electric blue. But then I started seeing all these gorgeous, deeper navy and cobalt bags, and I got totally sidetracked. I created a Pinterest board, naturally, to keep track of all the ones I liked.
Narrowing it Down
- Color: I eventually decided on a darker blue. It seemed more versatile and less likely to go out of style.
- Style: I waffled between a tote, a crossbody, and a shoulder bag. Totes are great for everyday, but I also wanted something a bit more… chic.
- Brand: This was the hardest part! I looked at so many different designers, from the super high-end to some more affordable options.
After what felt like weeks of agonizing, I finally narrowed it down to three bags. Three! I showed my friend, because I needed second opinion, and then she just laughed at me because I was so stressed about a bag.
Making The Choice
I went to the store, to see each bag in real. Touching the material is another feeling. I tried them all. I even walked around the store with them, pretending I was out and about. One of them, the shoulder strap just didn’t sit right. Another one was surprisingly heavy, even when it was empty.
Finally, I made my decision. I went with a gorgeous, deep blue crossbody bag. It’s the perfect size for my essentials, and it has a really cool, textured leather. It wasn’t the cheapest option, but I knew I’d use it all the time, so I justified the splurge. I felt so happy when I paid.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I absolutely love it! It was definitely worth all the research and agonizing. It’s the perfect pop of color, and it goes with pretty much everything. Best. Decision. Ever!
