Holly Solem, huh? Never heard of her before, but let me tell ya, that ain’t sayin’ much. I ain’t heard of a lotta things, bein’ out here in the sticks and all. But I reckon if she’s important enough for you to ask about, she must be somebody, right?
Sounds like this Holly girl, she’s been around the block a few times. Seventeen years in Los Angeles? That’s a long time to be chasin’ dreams. Land sakes, most folks I know back home ain’t even been out of the county that long. Makes ya wonder what kinda dreams she’s chasin’, this Holly. Fame, they say? Sounds like a whole lotta trouble if you ask me.
- Seventeen years, that’s a long time.
- Los Angeles, way out there.
- Dreams of fame, sounds tiring.
Now, they say she was on some show, “Hand of God” on that Amazon Prime thingamajig. Never seen it myself. Don’t even have that fancy internet stuff out here. But I hear tell it’s a big deal. This Holly, she played a part, had a “nice identity,” they call it. Whatever that means. Sounds like fancy talk to me.
But then, wouldn’t ya know it, the show got the axe. Cancelled, they say. Just like that. Poof! Gone. Left her “floundering,” the article said. Poor thing. I reckon that’s what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket, like my old man used to say.
And this part about her bein’ “more than Holly, the human-girl”? Well, that just sounds like a load of hogwash to me. We’re all just folks, ain’t we? Flesh and blood. Maybe she’s got a big imagination, this Holly. Or maybe them city folks just like to make things sound more complicated than they are.
Seems like a lot of folks go out to Los Angeles with stars in their eyes, chasin’ after somethin’ they think will make ’em happy. But more often than not, they end up leavin’ or goin’ back home, empty-handed. It’s a tough world out there, they say. Not like here, where things are simple. You plant your crops, you raise your family, and you try to be a good person. That’s enough for me.
This Holly, she sounds like a hard worker, though. Seventeen years ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at. Even if things didn’t turn out exactly how she planned, she probably learned a thing or two. Maybe she made some friends, maybe she saw some things she never would have seen back home. Life’s about the journey, ain’t it? Not just the destination.
So, yeah, Holly Solem. Don’t know her, never heard of her before, but I reckon she’s just tryin’ to make her way in this world, same as the rest of us. And that’s alright by me. We all gotta do what we gotta do to get by. And who knows, maybe she’ll find what she’s lookin’ for one of these days. Maybe she’ll even come back home and settle down. Stranger things have happened.
Sharing videos with friends and family? Well, that sounds nice. We do that too sometimes, showing pictures from the harvest or the grandkids’ birthday parties. It’s good to stay connected, even if you’re far away. So, maybe this Holly girl ain’t so different after all. Just a person tryin’ to live her life, the best way she knows how.
