Okay, so I wanted to do something fun with AI image generation, and I got this idea to recreate some iconic women from the 80s. You know, the ones with big hair, bold makeup, and totally awesome outfits. Let’s see how this goes!
First Attempts
I started by, you know, just typing in some names. Like, I literally just wrote “Madonna in the 80s” and “Cyndi Lauper 80s style” into the prompt. I gotta say, the first few tries were… interesting.
- Madonna: The AI seemed obsessed with her “Like a Virgin” look, which, okay, is iconic, but I wanted more variety! It kept giving me white lace and pearls, over and over.
- Cyndi Lauper: This was even funnier. It mostly gave me pictures of women with brightly colored hair, but it was all kind of…generic? It didn’t feel like Cyndi, you know?
Getting More Specific
So, clearly, I needed to be way more specific. I started adding details to my prompts. For example, instead of just “Madonna,” I tried stuff like:
- “Madonna 1985 wearing a black leather jacket and lots of bracelets”
- “a photo that looks like Madonna singing ‘Material Girl’,with 1980s style”
And for Cyndi Lauper:
- “Cyndi Lauper in the 1980s with multicolored hair, a quirky dress, and bright red lipstick”
- “a photo that looks like Cyndi Lauper singing ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’,with 1980s style”
See, I’m trying to paint a picture with words! I also started mentioning things like “photorealistic” or “80s photograph” to try and get the style right. I’m realizing that this whole AI thing is about trial and error, big time.
Tweaking and Refining
It’s taken, like, a lot of tries, but I’m finally starting to get some images that I actually like. It’s so *, I’m noticing that you really have to keep tweaking the prompt. Sometimes a small change, like adding “close-up portrait” or changing the description of the clothing, makes a huge difference.
It is the same with other 80’s women I test.
- For example, I add”Whitney Houston 1987 wearing a colorful dress with big earrings”
- “a photo that looks like Whitney Houston singing ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’,with 1980s style”
I think I’m getting the hang of this! It’s all about experimenting and finding the right combination of words. And, honestly, it’s kind of addictive. I could probably spend all day doing this! It’s like a puzzle, trying to figure out how to make the AI understand exactly what I’m imagining.
