Need a Bridgerton Dress Code? (Quick Tips for Your Regency Outfit)

Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with Bridgerton lately, like everyone else, right? And I got it into my head that I needed to try and put together an outfit based on the show. Not, like, a full-on ballgown, but something I could actually wear and feel vaguely Bridgerton-esque. It became a whole thing, so I figured I’d share my little adventure.

The Inspiration (and the Rabbit Hole)

First, I spent, uh, a lot of time just staring at pictures. Seriously, I went through tons of screenshots and articles breaking down the costumes. I wasn’t trying to copy anything exactly, more like get a feel for the shapes, colors, and fabrics.

  • Empire waistlines? Check.
  • Puff sleeves? Definitely.
  • Pastel colors or pretty florals? Yup.
  • Soft, flowing fabrics? Absolutely.

The Hunt

Next, I started poking around online. I did not going to make all dress by my self. So, I tried to search some dresses online, but the truly dress like what they wear in that show cost too much, I just give up the idea buy a whole dress.

I figured I’d try to find some separates that I could mix and match. I found a simple white, cotton top with some slightly puffed sleeves. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a good starting point.

Putting It Together (and Feeling a Little Silly)

Finally,I decided to pair that top with a long, flowy skirt I already owned. It’s a light blue color, which felt appropriately Regency-ish. I even had a little ribbon belt that I cinched around my waist, trying to create that empire waistline effect.

Honestly, I felt a bit silly at first, walking around my apartment in this getup. But, you know what? It was actually kind of fun! It’s not something I’d wear to the grocery store, obviously, but it definitely made me feel a little bit more elegant and, dare I say, Bridgerton-ready. I definitely watched a few episodes of the show dressed like this.
