Okay guys, this morning I sat down with my coffee – strong, black, just the way I need it to focus – and I thought, “You know what? I wanna dive back into some of Bella Hadid’s absolute killer moments at the Met Gala.” Seriously, that woman knows how to work a theme like nobody’s business. Felt like sharing that journey.

First thing I did was fire up my laptop. Went straight to my bookmarked list of fashion archive sites and major news outlets I trust for red carpet stuff. Typed in “Bella Hadid Met Gala” and holy cow, so many years popped up. I remember seeing headlines for most of these live, but reliving them? Always fun.
Started scrolling. Year by year. Like, I remembered that naked dress she wore in 2017 – the one with the sheer mesh and the crystals. Mind-blowing then, still mind-blowing now. Made a note: “2017 – Chrome Dress. Killer confidence.” Kept going. Then hit 2018.
2018 was… wow. The cross necklace, the pearl veil? Iconic. Looked up different angles, saw how the fabric draped. Actually spent a good ten minutes just looking at the construction of that necklace. Added it to my shortlist, no question.
2019 came up next. The dramatic black outfit with the huge crystal eye? Yeah, that one stuck with me. Found some great runway-style shots showing how it moved as she walked. That image alone screams Met Gala drama. Slipped into my “Definitely Include” folder.
Thought I remembered something amazing from 2021. Scrolled faster… Bingo! That feathered face covering and the burgundy gown? So elegant, so mysterious. Pulled up a couple of videos from the carpet entrance. Seeing the feathers move sealed the deal. Another strong contender.

But then came the struggle. Finding decent pictures isn’t always easy, right? Sometimes the lighting is off, or only blurry pap shots exist. Had to skip one or two potentially cool looks because I just couldn’t find a crisp, high-quality image that did it justice. Annoying, but gotta stick to the good stuff.
My shortlist was getting long. Needed to narrow it down. Started asking myself:
- Did it perfectly nail the theme that year?
- Did it cause a major talking point?
- Is the quality of the picture sharp and clear?
- Does it still make me go “wow” looking at it now?
Took a lunch break, let it simmer. Came back and reviewed each choice hard. Ended up with my top picks. Grabbed those high-res images. Started arranging them chronologically in my draft.
Didn’t want to just dump pictures though. For each look, I wrote a super quick, punchy note – literally just what it was and why it ruled, keeping it super simple. Stuff like “2018: Pearl Veil Perfection. Vintage vibes, religious art come to life.” Short and sweet.
Double-checked the years to make sure I didn’t mess up the order. Clicked preview. Spent maybe five minutes just looking at the images all together on one page. Man, she really doesn’t miss at the Met, does she? Every single one brought something wild and memorable.

Hit publish. Felt good. Like putting together a little time capsule of killer fashion moments. Hope folks checking it out get that same little jolt of awe I did when researching them. Another piece done!
