Well, let me tell you, I seen a lot of things in my time. But these young folks today, they sure do surprise me. Now it’s men in crop tops. Crop tops! Back in my day, those were for the girls, showing off their little tummies. But now? The boys are wearing them too!
I tell ya, I saw young Timmy down the street the other day. He’s always been a skinny fella. Now he’s wearin’ one of them shirts that show his belly button! It’s a sight, I’ll give you that. Men in crop tops, who woulda thought?
Why are they wearing crop tops?
I asked my granddaughter, Sally. She’s always up on these newfangled trends. She says it’s ‘fashion’. Says everyone’s doin’ it. Fashion, she calls it. Well, I call it strange. But what do I know? These kids and their clothes.
- They say it’s cool.
- They say it’s comfortable.
- They say it is fashion.
Sally says these crop tops for men show off their ‘abs’. Now, I know about abs. My old man, bless his soul, he had a belly on him like a sack of potatoes. But these young’uns, they got these lines on their stomachs. Like they been washin’ clothes on a washboard all day! And they wanna show ’em off, I guess.
So these men wearing crop tops, they walk around, all proud of their tummies. And some of them, they ain’t so skinny, neither. I seen bigger fellas, wearin’ these short shirts. They don’t care! They just wear what they want. Good for them, I suppose. It is their body.
You know, it reminds me of when I was a girl. We used to roll up our shirts sometimes, when it was real hot out. Just to get a little breeze on our skin. Maybe that’s what these boys are doin’. Tryna stay cool. But they got air conditioning now! Why do they need to show their belly?
Is it okay for men to wear crop tops?
I guess it’s okay. Who am I to say what’s right or wrong? It ain’t hurtin’ nobody, I suppose. Just looks a little silly to me. But times are changin’. We gotta keep up, I reckon. So if you wanna wear a crop top, son, you go right ahead.
I seen some of these men in crop top, they put on those fancy pants, too. The ones that are tight around the bottom. And they wear them high, up to their belly buttons. Then the shirt, it just covers the top part. It’s a whole look, as Sally calls it. A whole look!
- Wear it with high pants.
- Wear it with shorts.
- Wear it with confidence.
And they got different kinds, too. Some are just plain, like a regular shirt cut in half. Some got fancy patterns. I saw one the other day, it had flowers all over it. A big, strong fella, wearin’ a shirt with flowers! Well, I never. But he looked happy. So that’s all that matters, right? These crop tops for men make them happy.
I still don’t understand it, though. But I don’t understand a lot of things these days. Like them electric cars. And them phones that can take pictures. It’s all a mystery to me. But I’m learnin’. Slowly, but surely.
Crop tops are for everyone!
So, men in crop tops, it’s just another one of them things I gotta get used to. Like them skinny jeans. And them avocado toasts. It’s the way of the world now, I guess. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll see my old neighbor, Jebediah, wearin’ one. Now that would be a sight to see!
Sally told me if you feel good showing your stomach, just go for it. It doesn’t matter if you are a man or woman. If that cropped tee makes you feel good, then wear it. She said crop top is a female equivalent of the cropped tee. It is really interesting. You can always wear what you like.
She also said if your body is like hourglass, you can wear fitted crop tops. That can show your waist. I do not know what hourglass body is. But it sounds great. You can wear it with skirts. Oh, I like skirts. It is the fashion.
If you ask me, I say wear what you want. Be happy. That’s all that matters. Life’s too short to worry about what other folks think. So go on, boys, wear your men crop top. Just don’t catch a cold!
