Okay so let me tell you how I totally messed up trying to find out about Chris Pillot and Chanel Ayan at first. It started last Thursday when my buddy Dave mentioned their collab over beers.

My First Clueless Attempt
Friday morning I went straight to Google and typed “Chris Pillot Chanel Ayan” thinking I’d get some quick answers. Big mistake. All that popped up were fashion articles about Chanel bags and some architect named Chris Pillot in France. Zero useful info.
The Rabbit Hole Phase
Got annoyed and started clicking every link like crazy:
- Went through 15 pages of Google results till my eyes hurt
- Checked Instagram hashtags until my thumb went numb from scrolling
- Even dug through old Vogue forum posts from 2018
Still nothing. Total waste of three hours.
The Lightbulb Moment
Saturday morning I remembered Dave saying something about “design meets music”. Tried adding “artist collab” to my search terms. Boom! Finally found their joint exhibit announcement buried in some artsy blog. Turns out Chanel Ayan is an African visual artist and Chris Pillot did the soundscapes.
What I Learned
Here’s why my first approach sucked:
- Just searching names without context is pointless
- Should’ve asked Dave more details when he mentioned it
- Never trust Google’s first page for niche creative stuff
Moral of the story: Always get the damn specifics before diving down internet rabbit holes. Saved my Sunday at least.
