Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with the Alexander McQueen bee motif lately. You know, those edgy-but-chic designs with the little bees? I decided I needed to try and incorporate that into something, so I figured, why not a pair of sneakers?

First, I grabbed a pair of plain white sneakers. Nothing fancy, just basic canvas ones. I wanted a blank slate to work with, you know?
Finding the Bees
Next, I started hunting for the perfect bee embellishments. It’s so easy to get and print some images from websites. I found some iron-on bee patches – score!– and some smaller, metallic bee charms. Because, why not have options, right?
The Process
I laid out the sneakers and started playing around with the placement of the patches.I wanted a clustered look, but not too crowded. After some fiddling, I ironed on the patches, following the instructions carefully. It got a little tricky to iron it.
- First I sketched it.
- Then printed images.
- Finally sticked on it.
Then came the charms. I used some strong adhesive (the kind that works on metal and fabric) and carefully glued them onto the sneakers, spacing them out among the patches. It was a bit messy, but I managed.
Finally, I want a better result, so I paint som gold color on it.

The Result
After letting everything dry and set, I was so stoked with how they turned out! They’re definitely unique, and they totally have that McQueen vibe I was going for. I’ve already gotten a bunch of compliments on them.
Honestly, it was a pretty easy DIY project. It just took a little patience and a bit of creativity. If you’re looking for a way to spice up some plain sneakers, I’d totally recommend giving this a try!
