Margiela Tabi Boots: Are They Worth the Hype and Price?

Okay, here’s my take on a blog post about my margiela tabi journey, keeping it real and relatable:

Margiela Tabi Boots: Are They Worth the Hype and Price?

## My Margiela Tabi Obsession: From Zero to Foot Fetish (Almost)

Alright, so you know me, always gotta try the trendy stuff. And for the past like, year? Maybe more? I’ve been seeing these weird-ass shoes EVERYWHERE. Margiela Tabis. The hoof-looking things. I was intrigued, I was disgusted, I was…confused.

But the thing is, they’re kinda cool, right? Like, ugly-cool. So I started doing some research. Turns out, they’ve been around forever. Like, since the 80s. Martin Margiela, the OG himself, created them. And they’re a whole thing.

So, the hunt began. First stop: the internet. I spent hours scrolling through resale sites, trying to find a pair that wouldn’t completely break the bank. Let me tell you, Tabis are EXPENSIVE. Like, ridiculously expensive. I almost gave up a few times.

I finally found a pair on a resale site. They were used, but in pretty good condition (looked like). And they were a decent price (for Tabis, anyway). So I bit the bullet and bought them. I was so freakin’ excited. I waited what felt like FOREVER for them to arrive.

The day they came, I ripped open the box like it was Christmas morning. And there they were. My very own Margiela Tabis. I tried them on immediately. And… they felt WEIRD. Like, really weird. Having something between your big toe and the rest of your foot? It’s a trip, man.

  • Day 1: Wore them to the grocery store. Got some looks, but mostly felt self-conscious.
  • Day 2: Tried them with a different outfit. Still felt a little weird, but starting to get used to the toe thing.
  • Day 3: Actually started to LIKE them. Wore them all day. My feet didn’t even hurt! (Okay, maybe a little).

The biggest hurdle was getting over the initial weirdness. The split toe just feels so unnatural at first. But you get used to it surprisingly quickly. Now, I can walk for miles in these things (exaggeration, maybe a few blocks!).

And the compliments? Oh man, the compliments! People either LOVE them or HATE them. There’s no in-between. But that’s part of the fun, right? Starting conversations, pushing boundaries, being a little bit… out there.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m still not entirely sure if I can pull them off completely. But I’m having fun trying. And that’s what matters, right? Plus, I feel like a total badass when I wear them. So, yeah, I’m officially a Tabi convert. Maybe a little obsessed? Don’t tell anyone.

My Tips for Tabi Newbies:

  • Start with a used pair. Don’t drop a ton of cash until you’re sure you love them.
  • Break them in slowly. Don’t wear them for eight hours straight on your first day.
  • Embrace the weirdness. They’re not for everyone, and that’s okay.
  • Rock them with confidence! That’s the key.

So, yeah, that’s my Tabi story. From initial skepticism to full-blown obsession. What do you guys think? Are you team Tabi, or are you completely grossed out?
