Love Emily in Paris? Watch these 7 feel-good shows with fashion and romance

Why I Wanted More Shows Like Emily in Paris

Man, I just finished the latest season of Emily in Paris and felt that void, you know? That mix of craving more pretty clothes, funny city moments, and cheesy romance. Scrolling through Netflix felt like walking through a desert – nothing looked appealing. Just dark thrillers or superhero stuff. I needed sunshine and cute outfits! Started typing stuff like “shows like Emily in Paris” into Google, wasting like half an hour, feeling grumpier by the minute. All the lists seemed the same. Figured, heck, I’ve watched enough fluff, I gotta dig out my own gems. Grabbed my trusty notebook and opened all my streaming apps.

How I Dug Up These 7 Gems

Went back to basics. Thought hard: what hooked me on Emily? The clothes, obviously. The kinda silly but charming Paris vibe. The romance messes. Needed shows hitting those spots. Started combing through “Because you watched…” sections, ignored the algorithms pushing grim stuff. Actually clicked into show descriptions this time, not just judging by thumbnails. Searched stuff like “fashion shows,” “feel-good romances,” “city shows.” Took notes like crazy:

  • The Bold Type: Three gals in NYC working at a fashion mag. Ring a bell? Fashion, drama, dating chaos. Found it easily on Hulu, instantly reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw vibes.
  • Younger: Saw Sutton Foster pop up in suggestions. Woman lies about her age for a publishing job? NYC again? Fashion-y office scenes? Oh yeah, had to add this one. Another Hulu find.
  • Starstruck: Saw clips floating around. Normal woman accidentally dating a movie star? London setting? Slightly messy romance? Sounds perfect. Remembered it’s on HBO Max.

Okay, needed more European flair besides Emily. Fell back on some old faves:

  • Call My Agent! (Dix Pour Cent): French show about chaotic talent agents. Paris setting! Cameos by huge stars playing themselves! Drama! Romance! Pure gold. Found seasons on Netflix.
  • Heartstopper: Needed sweetness overload. Teen romance, super wholesome, beautiful visuals. Nick and Charlie are just adorable. Easy Netflix pull.
  • Lovesick: Remembered this quirky British one. Guy telling exes he has an STD? Weird premise, but surprisingly heartwarming friendships and relationships. Pretty sure I saw it on Netflix.

Last spot needed something new. Stumbled on a name:

  • Dash & Lily: Saw the Christmas book covers. Romance in NYC during the holidays? Different leads leaving clues for each other? Super cute premise. Took a punt – another Netflix gem from a few years back!

Mission Accomplished & Feeling Good

Cross-checked my list across Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max. Felt good seeing them all together – seven solid hits covering fashion, romance, city life, and that feel-good vibe I was craving. Proof I didn’t need the algorithms! Wrote down the list quick before forgetting anything. Already started rewatching the pilot of The Bold Type – forgot how fun it was! There you have it. The fruits of my grumpy, determined hunt. Grab your snacks and your coziest blanket, folks.
