Now, I heard about this one train, they call it the Trans-Siberian Railway. This thing, it’s a monster! It goes all the way from Moscow to some place called Vladivostok, or something like that. They say it’s 9,259 kilometers, which is like, 5,753 miles! Can you believe that? That’s a long, long way. If you wanna ride that thing, you better pack a lunch, and a dinner, and another lunch. You be on that train for 7 days, and you won’t be changin’. Just one long ride.

Heavy, Heavy Trains
Then there’s these other trains, not for people, but for haulin’ stuff. Ore, they call it. Rocks and dirt. They got this one, I heard, 682 cars long! That’s longer than a bunch of football fields all lined up. And heavy? Oh, boy. 82,000 tons of that ore. The whole train, with the cars and all, 99 tons! Heaviest in the whole world, they say. Imagine that thing rumblin’ by. It would shake the ground, I bet.

They started it in 2014, I heard. 21 days, it takes. 21 days on a train! You go through all these places, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland. All these places you never heard of. Imagine the things you’d see.
Portugal to Singapore – Now That’s a Trip
But you wanna hear somethin’ really crazy? 21 days from Portugal to Singapore. 18,755 kilometers! And 13 countries! Can you imagine? You’d see all sorts of things. Different people, different food. They say you stop in Paris, and Moscow, and Beijing. Fancy places, I guess.
Trains in India
Now, even India, they got some long trains. They got this one called the Vivek Express. Goes from Kanyakumari to Dibrugarh. I don’t know where those places are, but it sounds far. They say it’s 4,154 kilometers. Goes through 8 states, I heard. And it takes 75 hours! That’s more than 3 days! You’d need a whole lot of snacks for that ride.

Trains with Ore, Again!
They got more of them ore trains, too. Some of ’em, 3 kilometers long. They got 2 of those engines, they call ’em EMD locomotives. And 200, 210 cars, each one full of ore. And they got some extra cars, too, 2 or 3 of ’em. For what, I don’t know. Maybe for the fellas workin’ on the train.

They keep sayin’ about that 21-day train from Portugal to Singapore. Must be somethin’ special. Longest in the world, I reckon. 18,755 kilometers. Just think about it. You’d be on that train for so long, you’d forget what your own house looked like.
Lots of Long Trains
So there you have it. Lots of long trains in the world. Some for people, some for rocks. Some go for days and days. It’s a lot to think about. All those trains, rumblin’ across the land. Carryin’ people, carryin’ things. Makes you wonder, don’t it? I mean the longest train in the world, that’s something I never thought I’d be talkin’ about. I guess you learn something new everyday. I just don’t know why someone would want to be on a train for 21 days. That’s a long time to be sitting. And what about food? And going to the bathroom? I don’t know, seems like a lot of trouble. But hey, different folks like different strokes. And that is the longest train in the world.
