Hey, everyone, today let’s talk about something cool, the Lincoln Continental with those suicide doors. I mean, you gotta admit, these doors are just iconic, right? They scream classic and stylish.
So, first off, I got this crazy idea. I saw a picture of the Continental with these doors during Lincoln’s annual make meeting, they are planning to build this model! How cool is that? I did some digging and found out that Lincoln’s bringing back the suicide doors to celebrate their 80th anniversary in 2019. I’m like, “No way, this is awesome!”
I started researching like mad, and I found this interesting tidbit. The most valuable ones are the 1961 cars. And apparently, sedans and coupes are usually worth within 5–7 percent of each other, across all model years. Who knew?
Then I remembered that it’s been almost 50 years since Lincoln last used these rear-hinged doors. So I’m thinking, this limited-edition 2019 Continental is going to be a big deal.
I dug a little deeper. Found out these doors were a thing back in the 1920s and ’30s. Apparently, the Lincoln Continental with these suicide doors was the definition of glamour back then. It’s like a piece of history coming back to life. Pretty neat, huh?
My Plan
- First step: Get my hands on one of these 2019 Continentals. Easier said than done, I know, but a guy can dream, right?
- Second step: Take a ton of pictures. I mean, these doors are a visual treat. Gotta document every angle.
- Third step: Maybe, just maybe, take it for a spin. Imagine cruising around with those doors. That’s the life.
- Fourth step: Share my experience with you all, of course! What’s the point of having this awesome experience if I can’t share it, right?
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the Lincoln Continental and its suicide doors. I’m super pumped about this and I hope you guys are too. Stay tuned for more, because you know I’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way!
