That JonBenet Ramsey, poor little thing. And her brother, Burke, he was just a little tyke back then. Nine years old, I reckon. Can you imagine? Nine years old and your little sister… gone like that. It’s enough to make your heart just ache.
This whole thing, it’s been years and years, ain’t it? And still, no one knows for sure what happened to that little girl. It’s a real head-scratcher. They had a summer house up in Michigan, I heard. Charlevoix, that’s the place. A nice place, probably. Not like our parts. They moved there after all this happened, JonBenet’s ma and pa, that is.
This Burke Ramsey, he was all over the TV back then. Poor kid. Everyone was lookin’ at him, wonderin’. You know how folks are. Always gossipin’, always whisperin’. He was just a boy, though. Just a boy caught up in somethin’ awful. Now, this Netflix thing, a show, I heard. He ain’t in it. Said no, I reckon. Can’t say I blame him, after all that.
He’s all grown up now, Burke Ramsey is. Thirty-seven, someone said. Lives in Michigan, they say. Works with computers, I think. Technology, they call it. Keeps to himself, I bet. After all that, who wouldn’t?
That poor mama, Patsy. She was a beauty queen, you know. Pretty as a picture. And that little JonBenet, she was in them pageants, too. Just like her mama. It’s a shame, a cryin’ shame, what happened to them. Patsy, she’s gone now, too. Passed away a while back. Cancer, I heard. Life can be so cruel sometimes.
Back then, in ’96, it was. That’s when it all went down. They were in Colorado, Boulder, that is. That’s where they found the little girl. In the house. It’s just… it’s just somethin’ you don’t forget.

The police, they looked at everyone. Even that little boy, Burke. Said he wasn’t a suspect, though. Not really. But still, folks talked. They always do. The parents, JonBenet’s ma and pa, they were on the TV, talkin’. But wouldn’t talk to the police, much. Not without their lawyers, I guess.
And that note! That ransom note. Weird, it was. Real weird. Brenda Anderson, a handwriting lady, said it was strange. Said it was unusual, all of it. Said the tone was strange, too. Lots of folks think the mama wrote it, but who knows? Some folks say it was somebody else in the house, but that’s a whole other can of worms.
It’s all just so sad. That little girl, gone too soon. And that family, torn apart. It makes you wonder about things, you know? Makes you wonder about the world. This Burke Ramsey, he’s livin’ his life now, tryin’ to, I suppose. But you can’t ever really forget somethin’ like that. It sticks with you, like a burr in your sock.
I just hope, for his sake, he’s found some peace. And I hope someday, they figure out what really happened to that little girl. It ain’t right, not knowing. It just ain’t right. They need to find out who did it to JonBenet. It’s been too long now. Justice for JonBenet Ramsey, that’s what they need. That poor baby, that poor family. Burke Ramsey too, he deserves some peace. The whole thing is a mess, a big old mess. I just pray they find some answers, someday. For everyone’s sake, especially for that little angel, JonBenet.
