Alright, so listen up, y’all. Let me tell ya ’bout this Joey King wedding thing. It’s all over the news, even us old folks out here in the sticks are hearin’ about it.
This Joey gal, she’s a young ‘un, just 24 years old. A real purty thing, they say, been in some of them movies. You know, the kind the youngsters watch. She done got hitched to some fella named Steven somethin’-or-other. Piet, I think they called him. He’s a bit older, see. They say he’s 32, but I heard some folks whisperin’ he’s closer to 40. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, I reckon. Love is love, no matter how many wrinkles ya got.
Anyways, they didn’t just get married down at the courthouse like normal folk. Oh no, these two, they went all fancy. Flew themselves over to some place called Mallorca, in Spain. Can ya believe it? Spain! I ain’t never been further than the county line, and these young’uns are gallivantin’ across the ocean.
They found this big ol’ fancy place, La Fortaleza, it’s called. Sounded like a castle to me, the way they described it. Joey, she said it felt like that Great Gatsby story, you know, the one with all the parties and fancy clothes. I never read it myself, but my granddaughter talks about it sometimes.
- They got married by the pool, real pretty-like, with the mountains and all in the background.
- Said their vows in front of their family and close friends. Not like those big city weddings with hundreds of people you don’t even know.
- And get this, they had a friend marry ’em! Not no preacher or judge, just a plain ol’ friend. Times sure are changin’, I tell ya.
This Steven fella, he seems like a good sort. He’s a director, they say. Makes them movies too, I guess. He and Joey, they seem real happy together. She posted some pictures on that… Insta-thingy, the kids are always on. Looked like a fairytale wedding, all smiles and sparkly dresses. She wore a white dress, of course, like all brides do. Looked like a princess, she did.
It’s kinda sweet, you know? Young love and all that. Makes an old lady like me remember my own wedding day, way back when. We didn’t have no fancy Spanish castle, just a little church and a potluck supper after. But it was good enough for us. We was happy. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? Happiness.
Now, some folks might say these Hollywood types are too flashy, spendin’ all that money on big parties and fancy clothes. But I say, let ’em be. If they got the money and they wanna spend it, that’s their business. Long as they’re happy, that’s all that counts. And this Joey and Steven, they seem mighty happy.
So, that’s the story of Joey King’s wedding, as best as I can tell ya. A young couple, a fancy wedding in Spain, and a whole lotta love. It’s a nice story, a reminder that even in this crazy world, love still finds a way. And that makes this old lady’s heart happy.
They say Joey’s got a new show comin’ out too, “We Were the Lucky Ones.” Guess she is lucky, findin’ love like that. But maybe that Steven fella’s the lucky one, gettin’ hitched to a purty young gal like her. Either way, I wish ’em both the best. Hope they have a long and happy life together. And maybe someday, they’ll come visit us out here in the country. I’d bake ’em a pie, I would.
