Okay, so I saw this picture of Jennifer Lopez in a bikini, and I thought, “I wanna try and recreate that look!” Not the body, obviously, just the overall vibe, you know?

Finding the Right Bikini
First things first, I needed a similar bikini. Hers was this simple, classic black triangle top and string bottoms. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong! I spent like two hours online, scrolling through endless pages of swimwear. It’s surprisingly hard to find a plain black bikini that doesn’t have some weird embellishment or funky cut.
- I checked out some big online retailers.
- I also looked at some smaller, boutique-y type places.
Finally, I found one that was pretty close. It wasn’t exactly the same, but the shape was right, and it was black. Good enough!
Setting the Scene
Next, I needed to figure out where to take the picture. * was on some gorgeous yacht, but, uh, I don’t have one of those. My backyard is more…suburban than super-yacht-chic.
I decided the best I could do was my inflatable kiddie pool. Hey, it’s still water, right? I filled it up, grabbed a towel, and put on some sunscreen. Gotta protect that skin!
Striking a Pose
This was the hardest part. * looked so effortlessly cool and confident. I, on the other hand, felt a little awkward. I tried to copy her pose, but it just wasn’t working. I looked more like a confused penguin than a glamorous superstar.

I took a bunch of pictures, trying different angles, arching my back, sucking in my stomach (which, by the way, is surprisingly tiring). I even tried to get that “smize” thing happening, but I mostly just ended up looking squinty.
The Final Result
After about an hour of posing and snapping pics, I finally got a few that were…okay. They definitely weren’t * level, but they were the best I could do. I added a little filter to make the colors pop, and there you have it! My attempt at recreating a * bikini moment. It was a fun little experiment, even if I didn’t quite nail it. Maybe I’ll try again next summer… after a few more ab workouts.
