Okay, so I’ve been seeing Jacob Elordi’s beard everywhere lately, and honestly, I was kinda digging it. It’s that perfect mix of rugged and, like, still put-together, you know? So, I decided to give it a shot myself. Figured, why not?

First things first, I needed to actually grow a beard. This was the hardest part, seriously. My facial hair grows in patchy, like a teenager’s first attempt. I spent weeks looking like a scraggly mess. I used some beard oil, mostly because it smelled nice, and I think it helped a little with the itchiness.
The Awkward Stage
- Weeks 1-3: Pure agony. Itchy, uneven, and just…not cute. My girlfriend kept making fun of me.
- Week 4: Started to see some actual coverage. Still patchy in spots, but progress!
Once I had some decent growth, it was time to shape it. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, because let’s be real, I had no idea what I was doing. I grabbed my electric trimmer – the one I usually use for, uh, other areas – and got to work. I decided on trimming setting number 3.
I started by trimming the cheeks, trying to get that clean line that Elordi has. This was terrifying. One wrong move and I’d have to shave the whole thing off. I took it super slow, trimming a little bit at a time. I used the trimmer to shape the sides and then switched to scissors for those details around the mouth.
The neckline was another challenge. I didn’t want it too high, making it look like a chinstrap, but I also didn’t want it too low, looking like a neckbeard. Again, lots of small snips and constantly checking in the mirror. I tried lining my index and middle fingers up to the top of my Adam’s apple and used that as a guide.
After what felt like hours, I finally had something that resembled a beard. It wasn’t exactly Elordi-level, but it was a huge improvement from my patchy starting point.
The Result: I’m actually pretty happy with it! It’s not perfect, and I definitely need to keep practicing the shaping, but it’s a good start. My girlfriend even said it looks “kinda hot,” so that’s a win in my book.
If you have been thinking about sporting this style, I say go for it! It is not perfect but I am loving it.
