Jackie O Style Guide: Classic Fashion Tips for Every Woman

Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with Jackie O’s style lately. I mean, who isn’t, right? That classic, elegant look is just timeless. So, I decided to try and incorporate some of her iconic elements into my own wardrobe. It’s been a fun little project!

The Experiment Begins

First, I spent a good chunk of time just looking at pictures. Tons of pictures. I scrolled through Pinterest, flipped through old magazines (yes, I still have some!), and even watched a few documentaries. Just trying to soak it all in, you know?

Then, I started to identify the key pieces. It seemed like she was always wearing:

  • Oversized Sunglasses
  • Simple Shift Dresses
  • Classic Trench Coats
  • Low-Heeled Shoes or Flats
  • Headscarves (sometimes!)

The Hunt

Armed with my list, I hit the shops. Well, mostly online shops, because who has time to actually go to the mall anymore? I didn’t want to spend a fortune, so I focused on finding similar styles, not necessarily designer brands.

I scored a great pair of oversized sunglasses for like, $15. Seriously! They look way more expensive than they are.

Shift dresses were a little trickier. I wanted something that felt modern, but still had that 60s vibe.

I finally found a couple online that seemed to fit the bill. One is a simple navy blue, and the other is a cream color. Both are pretty basic, but that’s the point, right?

I already owned a classic trench coat, so that was easy. And I’m all about comfortable shoes, so I have plenty of flats and low heels.

The headscarf was the only thing I was a little unsure about. I’m not sure I can pull that off, but I bought a pretty silk one anyway, just in case I get brave.

Putting it All Together

The real fun began when I started mixing and matching the pieces. I wore the navy shift dress with the sunglasses and some simple ballet flats. It felt so… chic! I even got a compliment from a stranger, which never happens.

Another day, I paired the cream-colored dress with the trench coat and some low-heeled pumps. It was perfect for a slightly dressier occasion. I even tried the headscarf, tied around my ponytail. I’m still not 100% sure about it, but it was fun to experiment.

The Verdict

Overall, I’m really happy with my little Jackie O style experiment. It’s definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone a little bit, and I’ve discovered some new outfit combinations that I love. It’s also reminded me that classic style really is timeless. You don’t need to spend a ton of money to look elegant and put-together.

It’s all about finding pieces that fit well and make you feel confident.
