Okay, so let’s talk about lash extensions. I decided to give them a try because, who doesn’t want to wake up looking like they’ve already put on mascara?
First, I booked an appointment at this salon everyone’s been raving about. I was pretty clueless, so I asked a ton of questions during the consultation. The lash tech was super patient and explained everything, which was a relief.
Then came the actual application. I lay down on this comfy bed, and she got to work. It felt a bit weird at first, having someone work so close to my eyes, but I got used to it. She carefully glued each extension to my natural lashes. It took about two hours, but honestly, I almost fell asleep a couple of times.
- Initially, they looked amazing! So full and long, just like I wanted. I felt like a new person.
- The first week, I was super careful. I avoided rubbing my eyes and slept on my back like she told me to.
- By week two, I noticed a few extensions had fallen out, which is apparently normal. They still looked pretty good, though.
- Around week three, they started to look a bit sparse. I booked a fill appointment to get them touched up. The salon lady said this is the normal thing to do.
- I did have one incident where I went on a vacation to a place with high humidity. I am not sure if it is the humidity, but I found the extensions fall off much quicker than I expected. It did not look too good at that moment.
It’s now been about six weeks since my first appointment, and honestly, I think I need another fill soon. The stylist told me most people get fills every two to three weeks. I tried to stretch it out a bit longer, but I think that is not a great idea if I want to keep it looking nice.
Overall, I think it’s safe to say that if you take care of them, you can probably get a good three weeks out of them before needing a touch-up. But hey, everyone’s different, so your mileage may vary. This is just what I experienced. Also, make sure you go to someone who knows what they’re doing. I heard some horror stories about bad applications, so do your research!
