Alright, so I’ve been seeing this ‘mob wife look’ thing pop up everywhere lately. Seemed kinda fun, kinda dramatic, so I thought, okay, let’s give this a try myself. Not usually my style, but hey, why not experiment a bit, right?
Getting Started
First thing I did was just try to get a feel for it. You know, what even is this look? Lots of animal print, big faux fur coats, leather maybe, and definitely black. Oh, and gold jewelry. Lots of it. And sunglasses, gotta have the big sunglasses.
Putting it Together
So, I went digging through my closet. Found this old faux fur jacket I bought ages ago and barely wore. Perfect start. Then I grabbed a simple black turtleneck and some black pants – seemed like a good base.
- Clothes: Faux fur jacket, black turtleneck, black pants. Checked that box.
- Makeup: This part was interesting. I usually keep things pretty simple, but this look needed more. I grabbed my black eyeliner and went a bit heavier than usual, smudged it out a bit. Added an extra coat of mascara. Found a darker lipstick, not quite red, more of a deep berry color. Defined my eyebrows a bit more too. Felt a bit like playing dress-up.
- Hair: Okay, the hair needed to be big. My hair doesn’t naturally do ‘big’. I tried my best with some mousse and hairspray, aiming for volume. It wasn’t exactly towering, but it had more oomph than usual. I just let it hang loose.
- Accessories: This is where it gets fun. I piled on the gold-toned jewelry I had – a couple of chunky necklaces, some hoop earrings. Then, the final touch: big, dark sunglasses. Put them on even though I was just standing in my living room. Felt kinda silly but also kinda powerful?
The Result
I stood back and looked in the mirror. It was… definitely a vibe. Very bold. Very different from my usual self. The faux fur felt super luxurious, and the whole combination just screamed confidence, maybe a bit intimidating?
Honestly? It felt pretty cool for a little bit. It’s dramatic, it’s got attitude. Not something I’d wear every day, probably not even for a regular night out for me. It’s a bit much for just running errands, you know? But for stepping out of my comfort zone and just trying something new? It was actually quite fun.
It’s definitely a ‘look’ with a capital ‘L’. Took some effort, more than my usual routine. But yeah, glad I tried it. Good to shake things up sometimes.
