That GT500 Code Red, boy oh boy, it’s somethin’ else. Heard it’s got a whole lotta power, like a bull ready to charge. They say it’s for them folks who like to go real fast. Not for me, no sir. My old truck does just fine gettin’ me to the market and back.
That Code Red, What’s the Deal?
They call it Code Red, sounds kinda scary, don’t it? Like some kinda emergency or somethin’. But it’s just a car, a fancy one. Heard it costs more than my whole house! Can you believe that? For a car!
- It’s a Shelby GT500, that’s what they call the base, I reckon.
- Then they do somethin’ to it, make it all powerful and call it Code Red.
- Only makin’ a few, ten for each year, from 2020 to 2022. That’s not a lot of cars for so many folks wanting to drive fast.
- It is not cheap, no sir.
They say this GT500 Code Red can go from zero to sixty faster than you can swat a fly. Might be fun for some, but I’d be scared to death. I like to take my time, enjoy the scenery. What’s the rush, I always say?
All That Power, What for?
This Code Red thing, it’s got 1,300 horsepower. Now, I don’t know much about horsepower, but that sounds like a whole herd of horses under that hood. More than enough to pull a plow, that’s for sure! But this car, it ain’t for plowin’ no fields. It’s for goin’ fast, real fast, on a track.
You can’t even drive this GT500 Code Red on the regular road. Nope, it’s too powerful, too wild. They say it’s only for the racetrack. Imagine that! Spendin’ all that money on a car you can’t even drive to the grocery store.

Too Rich for My Blood
They say this car costs over $200,000. Just for the upgrade! You gotta already have the regular Shelby GT500 first. That’s a lot of money. You could buy a whole farm for that kind of money! A good farm, too, with plenty of land for growin’ and some good, strong animals. Maybe even a little extra left over for a new tractor.
And that’s not including the base car. The GT500 ain’t cheap neither. These young folks and their fancy cars. Back in my day, we were happy with a good, reliable truck. Somethin’ that could get you where you needed to go, without all the fuss. The GT500 Code Red sounds like an awful fuss.
Shelby Makes it Fancy
This Shelby company, they’re the ones who make this Code Red thing. They take a regular GT500 and make it all souped up. Like puttin’ hot peppers in your chili, I guess. Makes it spicier, makes it faster.
They change a whole bunch of stuff on the inside. New engine parts, somethin’ about cooling, make it look all fancy. I don’t understand all the details, but they sure do make it sound impressive. For them that’s into that sort of thing.

- They fix up the GT500 real good.
- Make it faster than a greased piglet.
Not for the Faint of Heart
This GT500 Code Red, it ain’t for everyone. It’s for folks with deep pockets and a need for speed. Folks who ain’t afraid of a little danger. Me, I prefer a nice, quiet evening on the porch, watchin’ the sunset. No need for all that speed and noise.
But hey, to each their own, I always say. If some folks wanna spend their money on a Code Red and drive it around a track, that’s their business. Just hope they know what they’re doin’. That’s a whole lot of power to handle, even for those used to handling a GT500. A regular car is good enough for most folks, that’s what I think.
And those folks want to change their Shelby GT500 to Code Red can call Shelby company. They can make their car into that beast.
