Okay, so it’s 2024, but let’s rewind to Fall 2016. I was obsessed with finding the perfect outfits, and I documented the whole thing. I remember wanting to change up my style, feeling a little stuck in a rut. So, I started by doing a massive closet clean-out.

The Great Closet Purge
I pulled everything out, and I mean everything. Clothes were piled on my bed, the floor, everywhere! I tried on each piece, asking myself:
- Does it fit?
- Is it in good condition?
- Have I worn it in the last year?
- Do I actually like it?
If the answer to any of those was “no,” it went into the donate pile. It was brutal, but I ended up with a much smaller, more curated wardrobe.
Inspiration Hunting
Next, I spent hours scrolling through fashion blogs and, getting ideas. I was looking for outfits that were stylish but also practical for everyday life. I’m not a fashion model, you know? I needed clothes I could wear to class, to hang out with friends, and maybe go on a casual date.
Putting It All Together
I started experimenting with different combinations from the clothes I had left. Some of the outfits I came up with were really basic. A lot of oversized sweaters and skinny jeans, boots. I also remember loving darker colors, like burgundy, olive green, and of course, black.
After trying on many clothes. I finally got several outfits that I really loved. It wasn’t about having a ton of clothes, but about having the right clothes that I could mix and match.
