Well, let me tell you about this fella, Gerry Turner. They call him the “Golden Bachelor,” fancy name, ain’t it? Golden Bachelor, sounds like somethin’ you’d win at the state fair.
Anyways, this Gerry, he’s 72 years young, been around the block a time or two. Used to run a restaurant, fed folks, made a livin’. He’s from Indiana, that’s way over yonder, not around here, that’s for sure. He went on this TV show to find himself a woman. Said he found love, bless his heart.
He met this Theresa gal on that show. Filmed it all out in Los Angeles, California. You know, where all them movie stars hang out. They got engaged, quick as a hiccup, just a few weeks. Went public with it in December, had a big ol’ weddin’ in January 2024. Seemed happy as clams, them two.
But hold on to your horses, ’cause this story takes a turn. Just three months later, bam! They’re gettin’ a divorce. Three months! That ain’t even enough time to break in a new pair of shoes, let alone a marriage.

Now, what went wrong? Well, they couldn’t agree on where to live. Imagine that! After all that fuss, all that lovey-dovey stuff on TV, they couldn’t decide where to hang their hats. Seems silly, don’t it? But I guess that’s how it goes sometimes.
Gerry, he went on “Good Mornin’ America” with Theresa and told the whole world about it. Brave of him, I reckon, to air his dirty laundry like that. But that’s what these TV folks do, ain’t it? They make a spectacle out of everything.
Theresa, though, she’s a tough cookie. Even after the divorce, she’s still in the spotlight. Famous in her own right, they say. Good for her, I say. A woman’s gotta make her own way in this world.
So, there you have it. The story of Gerry and Theresa, the Golden Bachelor and his bride. A whirlwind romance that ended faster than a summer storm. Makes you think, don’t it? Love, marriage, divorce… it’s all a big ol’ mess sometimes. But hey, that’s life. You just gotta keep on keepin’ on, like they say. Find yourself a good cup of coffee and a comfy chair, and let the world go by. That’s my philosophy, anyways.
This whole “Golden Bachelor” thing, it premiered on September 28th. People were excited, I guess. Seein’ an older fella find love again, it’s kinda heartwarming. But then it all fell apart. Just goes to show you, love don’t always last, no matter how old you are or how fancy the weddin’ is. It’s a gamble, that’s for sure.
Gerry wanted to find love again, he said. He retired from his restaurant and went on TV. He met Theresa. They fell in love. At least, that’s what it looked like on TV. They had a fancy wedding. And now? They’re divorced. Just goes to show you that life’s full of surprises, and not all of them are good ones.
And as for the “first-ever Golden Bachelor,” well, he’s single again. Back to square one. Maybe he’ll find love again someday, maybe he won’t. Who knows? Life’s a funny thing, that’s for sure. You just gotta roll with the punches and keep on movin’. That’s all any of us can do, ain’t it?
