Okay, so I’ve been playing around with some fall dress ideas for 2024, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started by looking at what the big fashion folks are saying about colors for this fall. Seems like we’re going to see a lot of bold stuff, which I’m totally here for.

First, I dove into some of the predictions from color trend forecasters. They’re all talking about this shift towards more adventurous colors. I saw mentions of vibrant pinks, some cool aquas, and a bunch of rich browns. I thought, “Okay, this could be fun.” I tried to picture these colors in actual outfits, not just color swatches.
Diving into the colors
- Oxblood – This one’s deep and kind of intense. I experimented with a few oxblood pieces I already had, trying to pair them with lighter colors to balance it out. It worked pretty well with some soft grays and even a bit of cream.
- Powder Pink – Super soft and gentle. I played around with layering a powder pink sweater over a white tee and jeans. It’s such a simple combo, but it looked really fresh and put-together.
- True Brown – I was a bit skeptical about this one at first, but then I found this amazing brown corduroy skirt. I paired it with a tucked-in black turtleneck, and it suddenly felt so chic and fall-appropriate.
- Cherry Tomato & Pureed Pumpkin– These two were a bit more challenging for me. I decided to look for accessories in these shades instead of full clothing pieces. I found a cute cherry tomato-colored scarf and a pumpkin-hued bag. They added a nice pop of color without being too overwhelming.
After messing around with these, I also checked out what Pantone was suggesting. They mentioned Peach Fuzz as a big one for spring-summer, which got me thinking about how to transition that into fall. Maybe with some layering or deeper-toned accessories?
I also stumbled upon some articles talking about sky blue being a trend. I grabbed a sky blue sweater from my closet and paired it with some darker jeans and boots. It actually felt really refreshing and unexpected for fall.
So, that’s where I’m at now. I’ve played with some colors, mixed and matched a bunch of stuff, and started to get a feel for what I might actually wear this fall. It’s all about experimenting and finding what feels good, right? Can’t wait to see how these trends actually play out in real life!
