Okay, so summer’s here, and it’s hot as heck outside. What’s a guy to do? Make some whiskey cocktails, that’s what! I got into this whole thing a few weeks back. Started simple, you know? But then I really got the hang of it, and now I’m here to share the good stuff with you all.

First off, I grabbed a few bottles of decent whiskey – nothing too fancy, just good, solid stuff. Then, I hit the grocery store for some basics: lemons, mint, sugar, peaches, and some tea bags ’cause I saw this Bourbon Spiked Peach Tea thing online that sounded pretty darn good. I figured, why not? Summer’s all about trying new stuff, right?
The Experiment Begins
I started with something called a Whiskey Smash. Sounds tough, but it’s actually a breeze. I muddled some mint leaves with sugar and lemon in a shaker. Man, that fresh mint smell just screams summer. Then, I tossed in some ice, poured in the whiskey, and gave it a good shake. Strained it into a glass, topped it with a lemon wedge, and boom – instant refreshment. This one’s a keeper for sure. It’s like, the perfect drink to just chill out with on the porch after a long day.
- Muddle mint, sugar, lemon
- Add ice and whiskey
- Shake it up
- Strain and enjoy
Getting a Bit Fancier
Feeling a bit more adventurous, I tried something called the Belmont Jewel. Apparently, it’s a thing for horse racing fans, but hey, I’m just a fan of good drinks. This one was a bit more work, with lemonade and pomegranate juice involved, but still pretty straightforward. Mixed it all up, added the whiskey, and I gotta say, it was pretty darn tasty. Felt a bit fancy, too, which is always fun.
- Mix lemonade and pomegranate juice
- Add whiskey
- Stir and serve over ice
Sweet Success
Then came the Bourbon Spiked Peach Tea. Now, this one was a real winner. I brewed some strong black tea, let it cool, and then mixed it with peach slices, sugar, and a generous pour of whiskey. Let it sit in the fridge for a bit to let the flavors all mingle, and oh boy, was it good. Sweet, peachy, with that nice whiskey kick – it’s like summer in a glass. This is definitely going to be a regular in my rotation.
- Brew strong black tea and cool

So, there you have it – my adventures in summertime whiskey cocktails. It’s been a blast, and I’ve discovered some seriously tasty drinks in the process. Don’t be afraid to experiment, folks. You might just stumble upon your new favorite summer drink!
