Alright, let’s gab about them fancy neighborhoods, the ones they call the “most expensive zip codes.” I heard folks whisperin’ ’bout ’em, seen some shiny pictures too. Don’t rightly know why anyone’d spend so much money on a place to live, but hey, to each their own, I always say.

So, what makes a place so darn pricey? Well, from what I gather, it ain’t just about the house itself. It’s about where it’s at, you know? They say location, location, location, like it’s some kinda magic word. These expensive zip codes, they’re usually in places with good schools, safe streets, and close to all them fancy things like big city jobs and pretty beaches or mountains. Stuff that rich folks seem to like.
I heard tell of a place called Atherton, California (94027). Folks say houses there cost a fortune, like seven million dollars or somethin’ crazy! That’s San Mateo County, they say. Can you imagine? Seven million! That’s enough money to buy a whole town where I come from. I ain’t never seen that much money in my whole life, let alone spend it on a house. But they say the houses there are somethin’ else, big and fancy, with yards bigger than my whole farm.
Then there’s Miami Beach, Florida (33109). Another one of them fancy places. I seen pictures, all them palm trees and blue water. Houses there cost a pretty penny too, six million or so. That’s down south of Miami Beach, on some island called Fisher Island, or somethin’ like that. Sounds nice, but I reckon it’s awful hot and sticky in the summer. And all that sand gettin’ everywhere… no thank you!
- Atherton, California (94027) – around $7.75 million
- Miami Beach, Florida (33109) – around $6.1 million
- Sagaponack, New York (11962) – around $6 million
And don’t forget about Sagaponack, New York (11962). That’s up north, near the big city. Houses there are right up there in price too, another six million. I bet it gets cold as a witch’s you-know-what in the winter, though. Give me my sunshine any day.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I hear California’s got a whole bunch of these expensive zip codes. They say more than half of the top hundred priciest zip codes are in California. That “Golden State” they call it. Guess all that gold went into the houses! New York’s got a few too, and New Jersey as well, but not near as many as California. Seems like everyone with money wants to live out there.

They talk about “median sale prices” and all that fancy talk. From what I can tell, that just means the middle price, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. So, even the “regular” houses in these places cost more than I can even dream of. Makes you wonder what them rich folks do for a living to afford such places. Must be nice.
And I read somewhere that the prices of these houses might be coming down a bit, but they’re still mighty expensive. A little less expensive than a whole lot is still a whole lot, if you ask me! I reckon them rich folks ain’t gonna be hurting for money any time soon, though. They’ll still be livin’ in them fancy houses in them fancy zip codes.
So, there you have it, a little bit about them most expensive zip codes. More money than sense, if you ask me, but hey, it ain’t my money. I’m happy right where I am, thank you very much. Give me a good porch swing, a glass of sweet tea, and some friendly neighbors any day over them fancy houses and high prices. That’s the good life, far as I’m concerned.
