Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… dami kwon, or whatever it is. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folks do. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I seen enough things in my life to tell ya a thing or two, even if it’s about this dancy stuff.
So, from what I gather, this dami kwon thing is all about dancin’. Now, dancin’, that’s somethin’ I understand. We used to dance at the barn dances back in the day, you know? Good ol’ country music, swingin’ your partner ’round and ’round. Not sure if this dami kwon is the same, but dancin’ is dancin’, right?
Learn how to move your body
They say this dami kwon, or whatever, is good for learnin’ how to move your body. Well, I reckon that’s true for any kind of dancin’. You gotta loosen up them joints, get them feet tappin’, and let the music take over. It ain’t rocket science, you know? Just gotta let go and have fun. And when they said “Ballet is always a great class to take to start off with because it gives you a solid foundation for all other forms of dance” I guess that’s true, ain’t it? Like building a house, gotta start with the bottom part, the strong part, right?
I heard tell they got all sorts of dance classes in the city. Big places, they call ’em studios. And they charge a pretty penny too! Thirty thousand won, they say? That’s a lot of money for shakin’ your booty! Back in my day, we danced for free, just for the joy of it. But I guess times have changed.
Different kinds of dancin’
Now, this dami kwon, it ain’t just one kind of dancin’. They got all sorts of styles, like this “Afro Fusion” thing. Sounds wild, doesn’t it? They say you gotta “move, sweat, and learn something new.” Well, that sounds like hard work to me. But I guess if you’re young and full of energy, it might be fun. They told me “Dance at parties or at nightclubs with friends. Break into dance any time you’re feeling happy! Dancing alone is the best. If you want to learn choreography”. See? Told ya it is all about lettin’ loose.
They also got this “ballroom” dancin’. That’s the fancy stuff, you know? Waltzes and cha-chas and all that. I seen it on TV once. People dress up in fancy clothes and glide across the floor like they’re floatin’ on air. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own, I say. And there’s this other one that said, “Our single solo dance classes teach fun dance routines that don’t require a partner”. Now that is something I might try, if my old bones let me, haha!
- Learn different types of dance.
- Find good places to dance.
- Learn by yourself or with a teacher.
If you wanna learn this dami kwon, or any kind of dancin’, I reckon you gotta find a good teacher. Someone who knows what they’re doin’ and can show you the ropes. And you gotta practice, practice, practice. Can’t expect to become a dancin’ star overnight, you know? Like they said, “Step 1) Understand the potential culture and expectations. How is the class marketed? If they’re geared towards the public (e.g. open ads, college classes)”. Yeah, gotta know what you are gettin’ into.
And most importantly, you gotta have fun. Dancin’ ain’t supposed to be a chore. It’s supposed to be somethin’ you enjoy, somethin’ that makes you feel good. So, if you’re thinkin’ about tryin’ this dami kwon thing, or any other kind of dancin’, I say go for it. What have you got to lose? Just put on some music, let your hair down, and shake your groove thing! There’s a bunch of these studios they mentioned, so just get to pickin’ and get to shakin’ I guess.
Dance is for everyone
And don’t worry about what others think, they said “Our studio is dedicated to providing high-quality dance training in a fun, energetic, and inclusive environment. Join us to express yourself, celebrate life.” So it’s for all folks, not just them young skinny things. And it’s good for your health, I reckon. Keeps you movin’, keeps you active, keeps you young at heart. So go on, give it a try. You might just surprise yourself.
And if you have problems with them dating apps, well I don’t know nothin’ about that but I heard tell that “After having absolutely no luck with dating apps and meeting women in bars/clubs”, you might find someone at a dance class maybe? Just sayin’.
Anyways, that’s all I gotta say about this dami kwon business. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, but I know a thing or two about life and about dancin’. And if you ask me, dancin’ is a good thing. It’s good for the body, good for the soul, and good for the heart. So go on, get out there and dance!
