Alright, so, yesterday I was totally in the mood for some 80s vibe, you know? And Cyndi Lauper just popped into my head. So I was like, “Okay, let’s see if I can recreate some of that iconic 80s fashion, Cyndi style!”

First things first, I dug through my closet. I remembered this old lace top I had stashed away. It’s not exactly vintage, but it had that kind of “thrown together” look that Cyndi was all about. I paired it with a black skirt – nothing fancy, just a basic one I’ve had forever.
Next up: the accessories! This is where it got fun. I grabbed a bunch of colorful bangles – think neon pink, electric blue, anything that screamed “80s!” I also found this chunky necklace with some weird geometric shapes. Perfect! Then I remembered this bright red belt I bought ages ago at a thrift store. It was way too big, but I cinched it tight around my waist anyway.
Now, for the hair. I don’t have Cyndi’s crazy, multi-colored hair, but I did my best. I teased it like crazy at the crown to get some volume. Then I used some hairspray to keep it all in place. I even tried to do that side ponytail thing she used to rock, but it looked kinda sad, so I scrapped that idea.
Makeup was key. I went heavy on the eyeshadow – bright blue, of course. And lots of mascara! I also used some bright pink blush and a bold red lipstick. I even considered drawing a beauty mark, but I didn’t want to overdo it.
Shoes were tricky. I didn’t have any legit 80s pumps, so I went with some black ankle boots. They weren’t perfect, but they worked. The important thing was that they were comfortable enough to dance in!
I’m not gonna lie, I looked a little ridiculous. But that was the point, right? It was all about having fun and embracing that 80s craziness. I even put on some Cyndi Lauper tunes and danced around my living room. Totally worth it!

Final Thoughts
It was a fun afternoon project! I learned that you don’t need to spend a ton of money to recreate a cool look. Just dig through your closet, hit up a thrift store, and don’t be afraid to experiment. And most importantly, have fun with it!
